Manny Roach Named Blue Jay Spotlight

Manny Roach is a freshman guard for the Manor College Men's Basketball team. He attended Life Center Academy and is currently studying Sport Management.

Roach was named the USCAA Player of the Week for January 30 through February 5. Roach set personal season-highs in points (36), free throws (eight) and free throw attempts (11) versus Central Pennsylvania College. He followed that up with a 35-point outing against The Apprentice School.

Additionally, he is among the top 5 scorers in the USCAA as of February 12.

How did you find out about Manor College?

I found out about Manor College through Coach Leo Mahon. What made e come here was the small campus. Many people may not like small campuses, but I feel like it was perfect for me because it would help keep me focused in the classroom and on the court.

What is your earliest sports memory?

My earliest memory of watching sports was when my Grandpop had taken me to watch a baseball game. I stood up the entire game and was super intrigued.

What are your favorite sports teams?

My favorite sports teams are the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Phillies and the Los Angeles Lakers.

When did you pick up basketball and what made you stick with it?

I picked up a basketball at an early age and my mom made me stick with it. I was always around the game of basketball which is another reason as to why I stuck with it.

If you could pick one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Chicken Alfredo would be my meal for the rest of my life because you can't go wrong with it.

If you could have one dinner with any four people, who would it be?

Lebron James, Jesus, Steph Curry and Kobe Bryant.
