JENKINTOWN, PA–Manor College Director of Athletics John Dempster announces its 2024 Women's Volleyball schedule today.
The eight-match schedule features one tri-match and six individual matches. They are scheduled to play five National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), two unaffiliated, and one United States Collegiate Athletic Conference (USCAA) opponents.
The Blue Jays begin its 32nd season overall, and its third in the USCAA, on the road versus the Cheyney University Wolves on Tuesday, September 17 at the Glen Mills School Rec Center at 6 p.m. in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Manor hosts Cheyney on Monday, October 7 at 6 p.m. Wolves swept the season series in 2023 (October 16 at Glen Mills, Pennsylvania and October 28 in Jenkintown). Cheyney swept the 2023 season series versus Manor and finished that season 5-7. The Wolves have won all eight matches in its season series versus the Blue Jays since 2018.
Manor plays its only tri-match of the season when they play the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Sussex County Community College Skylanders and Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester Roadrunners at RCSJ-Gloucester in Sewell, New Jersey on Saturday, September 21. This is the Blue Jays' first tri-match since September 17, 2022 when they played Cheyney and NCAA Division III Rosemont College at Rosemont, Pennsylvania. This will be the first matchup between Manor and Sussex County. The Roadrunners defeated the Blue Jays in Sewell in its only other matchup on September 19, 2019 when Manor was in the NJCAA. Sussex finished the 2023 season 2-17 overall (2-15 NJCAA Region XIX Division III and 2-15 Garden State Athletic Conference). RCSJ-Gloucester finished the 2023 season 0-19 overall (0-18 NJCAA Region XIX Division III and 0-16 GSAC).
The Blue Jays play its home opener (September 25 at 6 p.m.) and regular season finale (October 9 at 6 p.m. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania) versus the Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks. Manor lost at home to Harrisburg Area in its previous matchup on October 12, 2019. They previously visited the Hawks on September 6, 2018. Harrisburg Area has won all 13 of its contests versus Manor since 2012. The Hawks finished the 2023 season with an 11-8 overall record (4-3 Region XIX Division III and 9-3 Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference). Harrisburg Area was the 2023 NJCAA East District Championship Runners-Up.
Manor plays USCAA Division II Pennsylvania State University-Scranton Nittany Lions (0-13 overall, 0-12 Pennsylvania State University Athletic Conference in 2023) on the road on Monday, September 30 at 6 p.m. in Dunmore, Pennsylvania. This will be the first matchup between the Blue Jays and the Nittany Lions.
The Blue Jays play the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars (5-10 overall, 4-10 Region XIX Division III, and 3-9 EPAC in 2023) on Wednesday, October 2 at 6 p.m. in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania. In its previous matchup, Manor lost at home in its regular season and home opener versus Lehigh Carbon on September 19, 2019. The Blue Jays last visited the Cougars on September 15, 2018. The Cougars have won 10 of its 11 matches versus the Blue Jays since 2012.
