MANOR COLLEGE’S EXIL BREAKS SCHOOL 400-METER RECORD ON THE SECOND DAY OF THE DANNY CURRAN INVITATIONAL

CHESTER, PA—Manor College Women's Outdoor Track and Field sophomore Ronise Exil (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels) broke the school's 400-meter record in the Blue Jays' fifth regular season opener on the second day of the Danny Curran Invitational at Leslie C. Quick Jr Stadium, hosted by the NCAA Division III Widener University Pride.

Exil, who was making her collegiate outdoor track and field debut, finished second in the tenth heat of the 400 meters with a time of 1:20.94.  She broke Neysha Medina's record of 1:21.80 on the second day of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Track and Field Championship on April 27, 2024 at NCAA Division II American International College in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Junior Lauren Brown (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert) ran in the 11th heat of the 100 meters and finished with a time of 16.96. Senior Aidan Geiger (Glenside, PA/Abington) ran in the 12th heat of the 100 and finished with a time of 17.84.  Junior Alexandra Simmons (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham) made her collegiate debut in the 14th heat of the 100 and finished with a time of 20.53.

Geiger and sophomore Olivia Morton (Philadelphia, PA/St.Hubert) ran in the ninth heat of the 400.  Morton finished with a time of 1:33,65.  Geiger finished with a personal best time of 1:38.60, surpassing her time of 1:41.63 at the Bill Butler Invitational on April 13, 2024 at NCAA Division II West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Brown and Morton ran in the 15th heat of the 200 meters and finished with times of 36.49 and 40.28, respectively.

There were not any team scores at this Invitational.

There were 43 schools and clubs/organizations competing in this Invitational, including NCAA (Divisions I, II, and III), NCCAA, and NJCAA (Division III). 

Next Meet: Manor is scheduled to compete in the second day of the Ursinus College Track and Field Festival, hosted by the NCAA Division III Bears, at Patterson Field at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 5 in Collegeville, Pennsylvania.
