MANOR COLLEGE’S BROWN AND MEDINA NAMED TO USCAA WOMEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK AND FIELD NATIONAL ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

PITTSBURGH, PA—Manor College Indoor Track and Field sophomore Lauren Brown (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert) and junior Neysha Medina (Philadelphia, PA/Constitution) have been named to the 2024 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Women's Outdoor National All-Academic Team.

According to the USCAA web site: "The USCAA's National All-Academic Award is designed to recognize all student-athletes (sophomores, juniors, and seniors at four-year institutions and sophomores at two-year institutions) who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.00 point system) or greater."

Brown, a Criminal Justice major, ran in all four regular season meets for the Blue Jays.  She set a school record in the 800 meters with a time of 3:25.97 at Day Two of the Ursinus College Track and Field Festival, hosted by the NCAA Division III Bears, on April 6.  Brown set a personal best in the 100 with a time of 16.43 at Purple and Gold Invitational on March 23 at NCAA Division II West Chester University.  She set a personal best time of 34.68 in the 200 at Day Two of the Danny Curran Invitational on March 30 at NCAA Division III Widener University.   Brown is also part of the 4 X 100 relay team.  She is scheduled to participate in the 200, 400 (her event debut), and the 4 X100 relay on Day Two of the USCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship at NCAA Division II American International College and hosted by Hampshire College on April 27 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Brown was named to the 2024 USCAA Winter National All-Academic Team for Non-Championship Sports while participating in Women's Indoor Track and Field.  She was also named to the Eastern State Athletic Conference Fall 2023 Semester All-Academic Team in Women's Soccer.

Medina, a Dental Hygiene major, ran in two of Manor's regular season meets.  She won the third section of the 200 meters with a personal best time of 35.59 in the 200 at the 2024 Purple and Gold Invitational.  Medina had the seventh-best overall time in this event at this Invitational.  Medina also participated in the 400 and 800 and is a member of the Blue Jays' 4 X 100 relay team.  She is scheduled to participate in the 400, 800, and the 4 X 100 relay at the 2024 USCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championship.

Medina was also named to the USCAA Fall 2022 and 2023 Semester Women's Volleyball All-Academic Teams.  She was named to the Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC)  Fall 2022 and 2023 Semester All-Academic Teams.  Medina will deliver the Manor College Commencement Address as the representative for those graduating with an Associate Degree on May 16.
