MANOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL LOSES TO RARITAN VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN HOME OPENER

JENKINTOWN, PA—Raritan Valley Community College (7-1 Overall, 4-0 NJCAA Region XIX Division II) sophomore guard Olivia Nilsen led both teams with 20 points as the Lions defeated Manor College (0-4, 0-4), 79-44, in the Blue Jays' home opener.

The Lions led after the first quarter, 19-8, and at halftime, 41-15.  They outscored Manor in the third (23-16) and fourth (15-13) quarters and in the second half, 38-29.

Individual Statistical Leaders: Sophomore guard Kiara Stoval (Chester, PA/Ursuline Academy [DE]) led the Blue Jays with 17 points.  Freshmen Emazhane Livingston (shooting guard/shooting forward) (Newark, NJ/Technology) (13 points and paced both squads with 18 rebounds) and Allayna Gordon-Staley (power forward) (Philadelphia, PA/Cristo Rey Philadelphia) (10 points and 10 rebounds) each contributed "double-doubles".  Freshman forwardJailynn Watson (Darby, PA/Penwood) added 11 rebounds and led both teams with seven blocked shots.

In addition to Nilsen, freshman forward Morenike Akinrefon, freshman guard Precious Allah, and sophomore guard Adrienne Amey scored 12 points each for Raritan Valley.  Sophomore forward Moira Phillips led the Lions with 11 rebounds.

Series Record (since 2002-2003, but, the 2003-2004 season is unavailable): Manor leads the season series 10-3.  Raritan Valley has won three straight match-ups

Home Openers (since 2004-2005): Manor is 12-3 in home openers.  The Blue Jays previously opened at home versus the Lions on November 15, 2014 (90-52 victory).

Next Game:  Manor travels to play the County College of Morris (1-3, 1-1) in a Region XIX Division II contest 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1 in Randolph, New Jersey.  The Blue Jays are 17-1 versus the Titans (8-0 on the road), including nine straight wins.  Manor previously played Morris during the 2015-2016 season, sweeping the season series, 70-39, on November 7, 2015 (at home) and, 69-40, on February 16, 2016 (on the road).

Next Home Game:  Manor hosts NJCAA Region XIX Division II Harcum College 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 4.  The Bears lead the season series (since 2008-2009), 19-7 (7-5 at Manor, including three straight wins), including nine consecutive wins.  Harcum won the previous match-up in the season opener, 74-46, on November 1 in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.  The Bears won the previous game at the Blue Jays, 73-49, on January 29, 2018.
