MANOR COLLEGE MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY MAKES ITS COLLEGIATE DEBUT AT DUKES INVITATIONAL

VINELAND, NJ—The Manor College Men's Cross Country team made its collegiate debut at the Dukes Invitational, hosted by Cumberland County College.

Three Manor College runners competed in the 5K meet.  Sophomores Jewell Funchess (Philadelphia, PA/Olney) and William Rodebaugh (Philadelphia, PA/Keystone) and freshman Maurice Taylor (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) competed for the Blue Jays.  Funchess finished with the best time among the three (21:34.35).  Manor did not score in the event.

Rowan College at Gloucester County sophomore Mike Dowd won the individual race in 17:59.27 out of 59 competitors.  Delaware Technical Community College-Terry won the meet with 24 points.  They also finished with a total time of 1:35:34.05.

The following NJCAA Region XIX Division III schools participated in this meet (including Manor): Bergen Community College, Brookdale Community College, Bucks County Community College, Camden County College, Community College of Philadelphia, Cumberland County College, Ocean County College, Rowan College at Gloucester County, and Valley Forge Military College.  The following NJCAA Region XIX Division I schools competed: Delaware Technical Community College-Terry and Lackawanna College.

Next Meet: The Blue Jays are scheduled to compete in the Bill Fritz Invitational, hosted by NCAA Division III Rowan University, at Gloucester County DREAM Park in Logan Township, New Jersey on Saturday, September 15 at 12:45 p.m.
