SPRINGFIELD, MA—The Manor College Men's Outdoor Track and Field team finished the season, setting personal bests and school records at the 2024 United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Outdoor Track and Field Championship, at the John G. Hoyt '52 Track & Field Complex, at NCAA Division II American International College.  This Championship was hosted by Hampshire College.

This was the Blue Jays' second appearance at the USCAA Track and Field Championship.  Manor previously participated in the 2022 USCAA Track and Field Invitational, which was at the University of Albany and hosted by the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.

Freshman Phaizon Thompson (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin) competed in the second heat of the 100 meter Preliminaries.  He finished second in this heat with a personal and 2024 school season-best, school- and school-event record time of 11.55 which qualified for the 100 Finals. Thompson finished the third-best time out of the five non-heat winners.  He broke Isaiah Leonard's school-record and school event-record with a time of 11.81 at the 2022 USCAA Track and Field Invitational.   Thompson broke his own personal and 2024 school season-best, school- and school-event record time of 11.44 in the 100 Finals and scored 4.0 points for the Blue Jays. 

Thompson also participated in the third heat of the 200 meters.  He finished in this heat with a personal and 2024 school season-best, school- and school-event record time of 23.74.   Thompson broke his own personal and 2024 school season-best, and school-record time of 23.98 at Day Two of the Danny Curran Invitational on March 30.  He also broke Leonard's school-record event time of 24.88 at the 2022 USCAA Track and Field Invitational.  Thompon's record-time of 23.74 was fourth overall out of the 15 runners that competed and scored 5.0 points in this event for the Blue Jays.  He became the first Manor Men's Outdoor Track and Field competitor to score points in multiple events at the USCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship. 

Manor finished 13th with 9.0 points.  This is the most points the Blue Jays have scored at the USCAA Track and Field Championships.   Albany College of Pharmacy and Sciences won the Championship with 191.5 points.
