MANOR COLLEGE’S THOMPSON WINS 100-METERS SECTION IN MEN’S OUTDOOR TRACK OPENER AT PURPLE AND GOLD INVITATIONAL

WEST CHESTER, PA—The Manor College Men's Outdoor Track and Field team opened its third season at the Purple and Gold Invitational at John A. Farrell Stadium, hosted by the NCAA Division II West Chester University Golden Rams.

Freshman Phaizon Thompson (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin) won the third section of the 100 meters with a time of 12.51. 

He became the first Blue Jay Men's Outdoor Track and Field athlete to win a section at West Chester and second to win a 100-meter section and third overall to win a section in any event and location.

Manor did not score at this meet.

West Chester won the meet (out of the 20 schools/clubs/organizations that competed) with 110 points.  Pennsylvania State University-Schuylkill was the highest scoring USCAA school, finishing ninth with 11 points.  Another USCAA member, Pennsylvania State University-Scranton also competed, but did not score.

Next Meet: Manor is scheduled to compete in the second day of the Danny Curran Invitational, hosted by the NCAA Division III Widener University Pride, at Leslie C. Quick Jr. Stadium, on Saturday, March 30 in Chester, Pennsylvania.
