MANOR COLLEGE’S THOMPSON SETS 200-METER SCHOOL INDOOR RECORD AT COLLEGEVILLE CLASSIC

COLLEGEVILLE, PA—The Manor College Men's Indoor Track and Field team opened its third season at the Collegeville Classic at the Floy Lewis Bakes Center, hosted by NCAA Division III Ursinus College.

Freshman Phaizon Thompson (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin) made his collegiate debut in the 60-meters (Unseeded) finishing second in the eighth section with a time of 7.61. His time was the sixth best out of the 37 unseeded runners.  He was also the first Blue Jay to compete in the 60-meters in school history.

Thompson set a school indoor record in the 200 meters with a time of 26.91. He finished second in the 13th section.  Thompson broke Javon Branch's time of 29.76 at the Collegeville Classic on January 25, 2020.

Manor did not score at this meet.

West Chester University, a NCAA Division II school, won the meet (out of the 16 schools that competed) with 116 points.

Next Meet: The Blue Jays are scheduled to compete in the Frank Colden Invitational, hosted by Ursinus, in Collegeville, on Saturday, February 3, 2020 at 8:45 a.m.
