MONT ALTO, PA—United Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Manor College (2-0-0) sophomore midfielder Emylens Bellevue (Philadelphia, PA/Martin Luther King) scored the game-winning goal in the 70th minute Blue Jays defeated USCAA Division II and Pennsylvania State University Conference (PSUAC) member PSU-Mont Alto (0-4-0) in a non-conference road match, 4-1.
Mont Alto opened the scoring in the first half. Second year midfielder Garrett Haskell's chip shot in the air from just outside the 18-yard line went to fourth year midfielder Thomas Obherolzer around the six. Oberholzer, who was voted 2023 PSUAC All-Conference Second Team, knocked into the middle of the net with a headshot for his second goal of the season (1:20). Manor tied the game later in the half. Nittany Lion third year goalkeeper Jawad Malik's (0-4-0) punt went to Blue Jay junior defenseman Mamadou Ba (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Learning Center) around the midfield circle on the Manor side of the field. His header went to freshman midfielder Mousa Cherif (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) just past the midfield circle on the Mont Alto side of the field. Cherif's pass went to junior midfielder Kounda Doucoure (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin) around the middle of the 18. Doucoure's shot went past Malik and into the left side of the net for his first goal of the season. The match was tied at halftime, 1-1. The overall shots were tied at eight. Mont Alto had more shots on goal than Manor, seven to three.
Manor took the lead for good later in the second half. The Blue Jays added to the lead late in the match. Bellevue scored the game-winning goal when his initial shot went off of Malik and kicked the rebound into the right side of the net for his first goal of the season (70:21). Bellevue was fouled inside the 18. Senior defenseman Maximo Chavez' (King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion) penalty kick went into the middle of the net for his first goal of the season and gave the Blue Jays a 3-1 lead (87:17). Manor finished off the scoring as time was expiring. Cherif's pass outside of the 18 went to sophomore midfielder Adan Crispin-Morales (Norristown, PA/Norristown) outside of the six. Crispin-Morales' shot went into the upper left-hand corner of the net for his first goal of the season (89:54). Cherif registered his first collegiate career multi-assist game on Crispin-Morales' goal. Altogether, Manor scored four unanswered goals. The Blue Jays outscored the Nittany Lions in the second half, 3-0. Manor outshot Mont Alto in the second half, 14 (nine on goal) to six (none on goal). The Blue Jays outshot the Nittany Lions for the match, 22 (12 on goal) to 14 (seven on goal).
The Road Winning Continues: The Blue Jays have won two straight road matches to start this season and three in a row dating back to the 2023 season. They have also won five of its last six road matches since October 12, 2023. The last time they had two straight road wins to open the season was in 2022 when they won three straight.
Picking Up Where They Left Off: Since October 12, 2023, the Blue Jays have won eight of its last 10 matches overall and outscored its opponents, 28-15. They started off the 2023 season, 1-5-2, and were outscored, 16 to six.

Next Match: The Blue Jays host the USCAA Division II and Eastern States Athletic Conference opponent Bucks County Community College Centurions (1-2-0) in its home opener on Tuesday, September 10 at 3:30 p.m. in Jenkintown, PA. Manor split its 2023 season series versus Bucks County (3-0 win at Bucks County on September 21 and lost 1-0 at Manor on October 3). Since 2021, the Centurions lead the season series 5-2-0 overall (2-1-0 at Manor).
