MANOR COLLEGE’S FORTESCUE JR, HOLMAN, AND TORRES NAMED TO THE USCAA DIVISION I MEN’S SOCCER ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM

PITTSBURGH, PA—Manor College senior forward Eddie Fortescue Jr. (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon), sophomore goalkeeper Aiden Holman (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton), and sophomore goalkeeper/forward Jacob Torres (Mays Landing, NJ/Cedar Creek) were named to the USCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-Academic Team.

According to the USCAA web site: "This award recognizes the student-athletes (sophomore or greater) who have a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or greater."

Fortescue Jr. played and started in all 16 matches. He led the Blue Jays in goals (10), points (23), overall shots (82), shots on goal (55), and game-winning goals (three). Per match, he averaged 0.63 goals and 1.44 points and 5.13 overall shots (3.44 on goal).  He paced Manor in Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) play in goals (seven), points (15), overall shots (41), shots on goal (27), and game-winning goals (two) in seven matches.  He was named to the All-Academic for the third straight season.  Fortescue Jr became the first Men's Soccer player to accomplish this feat.  He also was voted 2023 USCAA Division I Men's Soccer First-Team All-American, selected All-ESAC First Team and Player of the Year, and named USCAA Division I Men's Soccer Player of the Week (October 24-30).  Fortescue Jr was previously named to the USCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-Academic Team in 2021 and 2022.  He was also named to the 2021-2022 and 2022-2023 USCAA Division I Men's Basketball All-Academic Teams.

Holman played in 11 matches (nine starts).  He played 657:40 and had a 2.33 goals against average.  This is Holman's first appearance on the USCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-Academic Team.

Torres is making his first appearance on the USCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-Academic Team.

Under 13th-year Head Coach John Dempster, the Blue Jays finished the regular season 7-7-2 overall (4-3-0 Eastern States Athletics Conference).  Manor won its first ESAC Men's Soccer Postseason Championship.  Manor won the regular season Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) in 2012 and 2013 championships when they were NJCAA Division III members.  The Blue Jays previously won a conference postseason championship when they were in the Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) in 2007.
