MANOR COLLEGE’S LEO MAHON NAMED EASTERN STATES ATHLETICS CONFERENCE MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH OF THE YEAR

NEWTOWN, PA—The Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) Regular and Postseason Champion Manor College Men's Basketball (14-4 overall, 6-2 Eastern States Athletic Conference) Head Coach Leo Mahon was named Coach of the Year by the Conferene's Head Coaches. 

The fourth-year Head Coach is the first Manor's Men's Basketball ESAC Coach of the Year.

Manor won its first Conference/Region Postseason Championship in the program's history, winning the ESAC on March 1, 103-80, versus the 13th-ranked USCAA Division II Bucks County Community College Centurions.

The Blue Jays began the ESAC schedule 1-2.  They won five straight (all by double-digits and +16.4 per game) and won its third regular season Conference/Region title in the program's 34-season history.  They won its first regular season Conference/Region title since the 2007-2008 season when they were Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference (EPCC) members.   During the five-game conference winning streak, Manor shot 49.1 percent overall from the field and 41.6 percent from the three-point line.  Defensively, during the five-game conference winning streak, the Blue Jays held their conference foes to 39.5 percent overall from the field and forced 18.2 turnovers, contributed 9.2 steals, and blocked 3.2 shots per game.

Overall, Manor led the conference in the following per game: overall field goals made (33.6), overall field goal percentage (48.5), three-point field goal percentage (40.0), points (86.0), and point margin (+10.7). Defensively, Blue Jays led the conference in the following per game categories: defensive rebounds (26.4), turnovers (18.2), steals (11.2), and blocked shots (3.2).

Mahon joins Men's Soccer Head Coach John Dempster (2023) as being named ESAC Coach of the Year.

Since the 2023-2024 season, Manor is 26-13 overall and 12-4 in the ESAC.
