MANOR COLLEGE’S MANNY ROACH, NAMIR SIMMONS, BRYCE NWOBU, AND CHEIKH DIAGNE NAMED ALL-EASTERN STATES ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

NEWTOWN, PA—The Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) Regular and Postseason Champion Manor College Men's Basketball (14-4 overall, 6-2 Eastern States Athletic Conference) had the following players named All-ESAC by the Conference's Head Coaches: Manny Roach (sophomore guard) (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) (First Team), Namir Simmons (senior guard) (Philadelphia, PA/Quality Academy Prep) (First Team), Bryce Nwobu (junior forward) (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) (Second Team), and Cheikh Diagne (junior forward) (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) (Second Team).

Roach was named ESAC Player of the Year (see article) and fourth-year Head Coach Leo Mahon was named Coach of the Year (see article).

This was the first time Manor's Men's Basketball had four All-ESAC selections and Player and Coach of the Year.

Manor won its first Conference/Region Postseason Championship in the program's history, winning the ESAC on March 1, 103-80, versus the 13th-ranked USCAA Division II Bucks County Community College Centurions.

Roach led the conference in the following per game categories: minutes (36.3), three-point field goals made (3.2), three-point field goal attempts (7.1), three-point field goal percentage (45.6), free throw percentage (91.7),  assists (5.4), and steals (3.3).  He was second in the conference per game in points (18.3) and blocked shots (1.8).  Roach led Manor with 5.8 defensive rebounds per conference game.  He was second on Manor per conference game in overall field goal attempts (14.8) and free throws made (2.8).  Roach was among team leaders with 6.1 overall field goals made and 6.3 total rebounds per conference game.

Simmons was second on Manor in the following per game conference categories: overall field goals per game (6.8) and assists (4.0).  He was among team leaders in the following per game conference categories: minutes (34.0), overall field goal attempts (13.5), overall field goal percentage (50.0), points (15.8), total rebounds (4.8), and steals (1.8).

Nwobu led the conference in the following per game categories: overall field goals made (8.2), free throws made (3.5), free throw attempts (6.5), and points (20.0).  He was second per conference game in minutes (35.8) and offensive rebounds (3.8).  Nwobu led Manor with 15.4 overall field goal attempts, and 9.0 total rebounds per conference game.  He was second on the Blue Jays in overall field goal percentage (53.66) in conference games.  He was tied for second in defensive rebounds per conference game (5.3).  Nwbou was among team leaders in assists per conference game (3.4).

Diagne was second in steals per conference game (2.1).  He was second on Manor in the following per conference game categories: three-point field goals made (2.0), three-point field goal attempts (5.1), three-point field goal percentage (39.0), free throw percentage (81.3), and total rebounds (6.9).  Diagne was tied for second on the team in defensive rebounds per conference game (5.3).  He was also among team leaders in the following conference per game categories: minutes (33.3), overall field goals made (6.1), overall field goal attempts (12.6), points (15.9), offensive rebounds (1.6), and assists (3.5).

The following six Manor Men's Basketball players have been named All-ESAC since the 2022-2023 season:

  • Roach: 2024-2025 (first) and 2023-2024 (first).
  • Simmons: 2024-2025 (first) and 2023=2024 (first).
  • Diagne: 2024-2025 (second).
  • Nwobu: 2024-2025 (second).
  • Eddie Fortesuce Jr.: 2023-2024 (second) and 2022-2023 (first).
  • Nissir Cook: 2022-2023 (second).

 

Roach and Simmons join Fortescue Jr as Blue Jay Men's Basketball players to have been twice selected All-ESAC.  Roach and Simmons are the first Manor Men's Basketball players to have been twice selected All-ESAC First Team).
