MANOR COLLEGE’S MANNY ROACH COMPETES IN  USCAA DIVISION I MEN’S BASKETBALL THREE-POINT CONTEST

PETERSBURG, VA–Manor College (12-6 overall, 6-2 Eastern States Athletic Conference) freshman guard Manny Roach (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) competed in the USCAA Division I Men's Basketball Three-Point Contest at the USCAA Awards Ceremony and Skills Competition held at the Virginia State University Multipurpose Center on the Virginia State campus.

Roach, who was the first Blue Jay to compete in the USCAA Skills Competition, made six three-point baskets in 40 seconds in the first round and advanced to the finals where made 10 in one minute.  He finished third in this event.  

Roach leads the Blue Jays this season in the following three-point shooting categories: made (58), attempts (170), and percentage (34.1).  Nationally, as of March 9, Roach is first in USCAA Division I in three-point field goals made per game (3.2) and attempts per game (9.4) and 17th in three-point field goal percentage.

Roach plays for third-year Head Coach Leo Mahon.

The seventh-seeded Blue Jays will play the second-seeded Bryant and Stratton College Bobcats (21-9) in the USCAA Division I Men's Basketball Small College National Championship Tournament on Sunday, March 10 at 5:00 p.m at Richard Bland College of William and Mary (NJCAA Region X Division II) in Petersburg, Virginia.
