TWO MANOR COLLEGE SOPHOMORE MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS RECOGNIZED PRIOR TO FINAL REGULAR SEASON HOME GAME

JENKINTOWN, PA—Two sophomore Manor College men's basketball players were honored for their achievements before the start of the final regular season home game versus Rowan College at Burlington County.

The two sophomores were as follows: forward Carl Robinson (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) and guard Jose Romero (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford)

Please note that the statistics below do not include two games (November 2 and 3, 2018).

Robinson started and played in 21 games in his only season with the Blue Jays.  He leads Manor in three-point field goals made (43) and attempted (140) and steals (30) and per game (1.4).  Robinson is second in field goals made (82) and attempts (217) and rebounds (125) and per game (6.0).  He is among team leaders in points (222) and per game (10.6).  Robinson has scored in double figures in 11 games, including 21 points at Rowan College at Burlington County (November 13, 2018) and versus Raritan Valley Community College (November 27, 2018).  He has also contributed five double-digit rebounding games, including 12 at Delaware Technical Community College-Stanton (November 22, 2018).  Robinson was also on the Men's Cross Country team.  Robinson was named to the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Fall 2018 All-Academic Team.  He is a Psychology major.

Manor Men's Basketball first-year Head Coach Dave Ellerbee on Robinson: "Carl is everything I could have asked for in a team captain.  He will be the example that I use when explaining the definition of a student-athlete.  He got it done this year."

Romero played in 19 games (one start) in his only season with Manor.  He averaged 1.7 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.  He also plays for the baseball team.  Romero is a Sports Management major.

Ellerbee on Romero: "Jose is a proven collegiate athlete.  His athleticism, work ethic, and willingness to be a team player made a tremendous impact on our team this year."

Ellerbee on Robinson and Romero: "I'm very proud of both of these guys.  The ebb and flow of a season felt easier because of their sense of humor and enthusiasm for the game of basketball."
