MANOR COLLEGE BASEBALL LOSES REGULAR SEASON AND ESAC FINALES VERSUS BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE

NEWTOWN, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Bucks County Community College (10-20 overall, 9-7 Eastern States Athletic Conference) scored six runs in the fourth and four in the fifth, as the Centurions defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (1-15, 0-12), 14-5, at Brian Seibert Memorial Field.

Manor scored in the top of the first. Freshman right fielder Manny Roach (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) led off with an infield single to sophomore shortstop Cameron Visconto.  Freshman left fielder Yerlad Duran (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) singled to left fielder Alex Fantaskey and advanced Roach to second.  Senior third baseman Eddie Fortescue Jr (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) followed with a single to freshman center fielder Connor Saulino, scoring Roach.  Bucks County answered in the bottom half of the half, scoring two runs.

The Centurions added to its lead, scoring one in the second.

Bucks County took a 4-1 in the bottom of the third.  Freshman first baseman Evan Urglavitch led off with a walk.  Urglavitch advanced to second on Visconto's ground out to freshman first baseman Christopher Colella (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt).  Urglavitch stole third base.  Freshman right fielder Milo Condron's ground out, freshman shortstop Juan Regalado (Philadelphia, PA) to Colella, scored Urglavitch.

The Blue Jays took another lead in this game, 5-4, scoring four in the top of the fourth.  Freshman second baseman Almanie Reyes Torres (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) led off with a single to Fantaskey.  Regalado's walk advanced Reyes Torres to second.  Colella's one-out, ground ball to Visconto was mishandled and reached safely when freshman second baseman Justin Rosa's throw went past Urglavitch.  Rosa's throwing error allowed Reyes Torres to score and Urglavitch's throw went past freshman third baseman Joe Ruggiero which allowed Regalado to score.  Colella advanced to second on Rosa's throwing error.  Roach's single to Fantaskey advanced Colella to third.  Roach stole second.  Duran's single to Saulino scored Colella and Roach and knocked junior starting pitcher Luke Redding out of the game.  However, the Centurions took the lead for good in the bottom half of the inning.  They sent ten hitters to the plate and scored six runs.  The first four batters walked, including Fantaskey's which scored Saulino and tied the game at five.  Urglavitch followed with a single to Roach which scored Saulino and freshman first baseman Denzel Perez and gave Bucks County the lead for good.

The Centurions added four runs in the fifth on Urglavitch's no out, inside-the-park grand slam to left.

This was Manor's and Bucks County's final 2024 regular season games.

Batting Leaders: Duran had two hits and two runs batted in.  Roach had two hits and scored twice.  Freshman catcher Anthony Ortiz (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) contributed a hit and walk.  Regalado walked twice for Manor.

Urglavitch had two hits (including an inside-the-park grand slam), scored four runs, and knocked in six runs.  Fantaskey walked three times and scored three runs. Freshman catcher Evan Hill walked twice. Perez had a hit and a walk and scored two runs.  Rosa contributed a hit and a walk.  Condron had two RBI.  

Pitching Leaders: Regalado finished the game for the Blue Jays in relief, striking out five of the six batters he faced in two scoreless innings.

Redding started the game for the Centurions, pitching 3 ⅔ innings.  Ruggiero won the game in relief, pitching 3 ⅓ scoreless innings.  He struck out five and allowed two walks.

Season Series: Manor is 1-5 overall versus Bucks County (1-3 on the road).

Manor on the Road in 2024: The Blue Jays finish the regular season 0-7 on the road.
