MANOR COLLEGE BASEBALL LOSES GAME ONE OF AN ESAC ROAD DOUBLEHEADER VERSUS CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA COLLEGE

HARRISBURG, PA—United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Central Pennsylvania College (17-10 overall, 9-2 Eastern States Athletic Conference) scored runs in four of the five innings they batted, as the Knights defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (1-11, 0-8) in game one of a doubleheader, 12-2, in five innings, at Susquehanna Township Baseball Field at Susquehanna Middle School.

This doubleheader was rescheduled from April 2.

The Blue Jays previously played the Knights in their inaugural season finale on May 8, 2018 at Lawnton Field in Lawnton, Pennsylvania when Manor was a NJCAA Region XIX Division III member.  The Knights won, 8-5.

Central Pennsylvania scored two in the first inning. The Knights added three in the second, including two with two out.  They batted around in the fourth, scoring four two-out runs.

Manor scored its runs in the top of the fifth.  Freshman pitcher-third baseman Narsizo Rivera (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels) led off the top of the fifth with his first collegiate home run to left off of Central Pennsylvania freshman starting pitcher Anthony Garcia.  Freshman first baseman Christopher Colella (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt) singled to sophomore left fielder Roniel Morel with one out.  Freshman second baseman Manny Roach's (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) single to freshman center fielder David Thomas advanced Colella to second. Two batters later, senior third baseman-shortstop Eddie Fortescue Jr's (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon) two-out single to Morel loaded the bases.  Freshman catcher Anthony Ortiz (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) infield single to sophomore shortstop Cameron Smiley scored Colella.

Central Pennsylvania sent eight hitters to the plate in the bottom of the fifth.  They scored three two-out runs. Senior catcher Hunter Finkey's bases-loaded walk, scoring freshman designated runner-pinch hitter Tyrone Tobin ended the game.

Batting Leaders: Ortiz had two hits and Fortescue Jr stole two bases.

Freshman third baseman Tanner McCoy had two hits (including a double), stole two bases and scored two runs.  Morel walked twice and scored two runs.  Finkey walked twice and knocked in two runs.  Smiley led both teams with three RBI.  Junior shortstop Owen Zell stole three bases and scored two runs.

Pitching Leaders: Garcia (1-0) pitched his first complete game of the season, striking out seven, allowing seven hits and one walk. 

Season Series: Manor is 0-2 overall versus Central Pennsylvania (0-2 on the road).

Manor on the Road: The Blue Jays are 0-5 this season on the road.
