JENKINTOWN, PA–The following below is a Manor College Athletics Year-in-Review by sport with Blue Jays Athletics Website roster, schedule, statistics, and news links for each one.
Baseball
Manor competed as a club team this season, playing in 14 games. Most of its schedule was versus Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) opponents, including nationally-ranked Central Pennsylvania College and Williamson College of the Trades. They also played a game versus National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region XIX Division III Atlantic Cape Community College and three contests versus Patrick Henry College. Central Pennsylvania won the ESAC regular and postseason championships and was selected as the eighth seed in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Small College World Series in DuBois, Pennsylvania. The Blue Jays play their home games at Alverthorpe Park in Jenkintown and Roslyn Park in Abington.
Sophomore first baseman-pitcher Christopher Colella (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt), junior infielder-pitcher-catcher Cidrick Navas (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels), second baseman-pitcher Alexander Rebitz (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham), and junior outfielder Jacob Torres (Mays Landing, NJ/Cedar Creek) were named to the ESAC Fall 2024 Semester All-Academic Team (3.25-plus Grade-Point Average).
Men's Basketball (14-4, 6-2)
Manor's 18 games played was the second-highest since they became a USCAA member. Their non-conference schedule included two NCAA schools (Division I Wagner College and Division III University of Valley) and mostly USCAA schools (Division I Bryant and Stratton College-Rochester and Division II Penn State Hazleton and Lehigh Valley and SUNY-ESF) and NJCAA Region XIX Division III Lehigh Carbon Community College and RCSJ-Gloucester.
After starting the regular season 1-3 overall and 0-1 in the ESAC, the Blue Jays embarked on a run not seen since Manor was an Eastern Pennsylvania College Conference (EPCC) member. They finished the regular season winning nine straight and 13 of its final 14 games. The nine-game winning streak was tied for the longest in USCAA Division I this past season. This also included five straight consecutive regular season conference wins. Manor also won five straight home and six straight road games. They defended their Roadrunner Classic Championship at RCSJ-Gloucester on December 7. During their nine-game winning streak, the Blue Jays won by double-digits eight times. Three of their last four wins were by 20 or more points. Offensively, they were 14-2 when scoring 70 or more points. Defensively, they were 14-1 when allowing 89 or fewer points. The Blue Jays were 11-2 when leading at halftime, including nine straight wins. They also won three times after trailing at halftime.
Manor finished as regular season ESAC Champions and it was their first Region/Conference title in the program's history. They hosted its first postseason game since joining the USCAA for the 2021-2022 season. They previously hosted a postseason game on March 6, 2018 versus Ulster County Community College in the NJCAA Region XIX Division II First Round. Hosting postseason contests, Manor is 10-4 overall (1-0 USCAA, 1-2 NJCAA and 8-2 EPCC) (since 1994-1995) (2001-2002 season missing).The Blue Jays defeated nationally-ranked USCAA Division II Bucks County, 103-80, in the ESAC Championship on March 1. This was Manor's first Men's Basketball Conference/Championship win in its program history after finishing runners-up six times. This victory broke multiple postseason losing streaks. The Blue Jays last won a postseason game on March 4, 2016, when they defeated the Raritan Valley Community College Vikings, 87-73, in the NJCAA Region XIX Division II Semifinals at the County College of Morris in Randolph, New Jersey, breaking a nine-game skid. This was also the Blue Jays' first postseason win as a USCAA member in seven games. This was also Manor's first postseason home win since February 24, 2015 when they defeated Raritan Valley in the NJCAA Region XIX Division II First Round, 73-64, breaking a two-game losing streak.
Individually, senior guard Namir Simmons (Philadelphia, PA/Quality Academy Prep) scored his 1,000th college point versus Patrick Henry on March 22. He scored 389 points for NJCAA Region XIX Division III Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology and finished with 626 points for Manor.
Sophomore guard Manny Roach (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) set the following single-game school USCAA records in the ESAC Championship: 43 points, including eight three-point field goals made on 15 attempts. Roach's record-breaking effort versus the Centurions earned him a USCAA Division I Men's Basketball Player of the Week Award (February 25, 2025-March 3, 2025). Junior forward Bryce Nwobu (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) broke the single-game school record with 22 rebounds in the ESAC Championship.
The Blue Jays appeared in the weekly USCAA Division I Coaches Poll for nine consecutive weeks, peaking as high as sixth. They finished the season 10-3 in games as a nationally-ranked team.
Individually, junior forward Cheikh Diagne (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast), sophomore forward Deacon Linder (Philadelphia, PA/Hardy Williams Academy [Mastery]), Nwobu, Roach, and Simmons finished in the USCAA Division top-25 in at least one statistical category. As a team, Manor finished in the top-10 in wins and winning percentage. Their 0.296 win-loss percentage from the 2023-2024 season was third-best in USCAA Division I. The Blue Jays also finished in the top-five in four and the top-10 in four offensive team categories. They finished in the top-five in one defensive category and the top-10 in three defensive categories.
Roach and Simmons were selected All-ESAC First Team and Diagne and Nwobu were selected to the second team. Roach was named Player of the Year. Leo Mahon was named Coach of the Year. Freshman guard Ihsan Beyah (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Wood), Diagne, Nwobu, and Roach were named to the ESAC Fall 2024 Semester All-Academic Team.
Roach was named to the USCAA Division I Men's Basketball All-Academic Team (3.50+ Grade-Point Average).
Nwobu and Roach were voted USCAA Division I Men's Basketball Second Team All-Americans. Simmons was voted Honorable Mention.
Since the 2023-2024 season, Manor is 26-13 overall and 12-4 in the ESAC. They are 12-5 at home and 11-4 on the road. They are 17-6 when leading at halftime and won seven times after trailing at halftime. The Blue Jays are 20-6 as a nationally-ranked team in the past two seasons.
Women's Basketball (0-4, 0-2)
Manor played its third season as a USCAA member. They played against USCAA Division II and ESAC members Bucks County Community and Central Pennsylvania Colleges. The Blue Jays also played against NJCAA Region XIX Division III Lehigh Carbon Community and Sussex County Community Colleges.
Individually, sophomore point guard Jayla Hairston (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Learning Center) finished in the top-25 per game in the USCAA Division I Women's Basketball in following categories: blocked shots (third), minutes (16th), and offensive rebounds (tied for 24th). Freshman guard Tori Simmons (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham) also finished in the top-25 per game in USCAA Division I in the following: blocked shots (second), minutes (fifth), defensive (eighth), three-point field goals made (21st), and total rebounds (21st). Sophomore forward Cheyanne Velez (Philadelphia, PA/Kensington HS for the Creative and Performing Arts) finished fifth in USCAA Division I Women's Basketball in steals per game and 19th in offensive rebounds per game. As a team, the Blue Jays led USCAA Division I Women's Basketball in blocked shots per game.
Junior guard Lauren Brown (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert) was named to the USCAA Division I Women's Basketball National All-Academic Team.
Simmons was selected to the All-ESAC Second Team. Freshman Aneeyah Allen (Philadelphia, PA/One Bright Ray), Brown, freshman guard Tierra Deveaux (Philadelphia, PA/Pottsgrove), freshman forward Mary Dillon (Philadelphia, PA/Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School), junior guard Olivia Morton (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert), Tori Simmons, and sophomore forward Anjana Waters (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) were named to the ESAC Fall 2024 Semester All-Academic Team.
Men's Soccer (9-8-1, 4-3-1)
Manor played its most matches (20) since joining the USCAA for the 2021 season. The Blue Jays conference foes Central Pennsylvania, Christendom College, and Williamson were all nationally-ranked in the weekly USCAA Division II Coaches Poll. Their non-conference schedule included USCAA Division II and PSUAC members Mont Alto, Lehigh Valley, and York; and NJCAA Region XIX Division III members Delaware County Community, Harrisburg Area Community, and RSCJ-Gloucester; and NJCAA Region XX Division II Cecil College. Central Pennsylvania won the ESAC regular and postseason championships and was USCAA Division II Small College National Championship Tournament Runners-Up.
Offensively, Manor defeated Harrisburg Area, 18-1, on September 12. At the time the 18 goals scored by Manor are the most by any USCAA Division I Men's Soccer team this season and the most since Bryant and Stratton-Rochester scored 13 versus USCAA Division II Pennsylvania State University-Beaver on October 11, 2023. The Blue Jays' 18 goals at home are the most scored at home by a USCAA Division I school since Shaw University scored 12 versus National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) Division II Carolina Christian College on September 22, 2023 and Bryant and Stratton College-Rochester scored 12 versus Bryant and Stratton College-Albany on September 6, 2023. The 18 goals scored overall and at home by the Blue Jays are the most since they scored 10 versus NJCAA Division III Lehigh Carbon Community College on October 8, 2016. Manor's 18 goals versus Harrisburg are the most in this season series since they scored 17 versus the Hawks on September 28, 2013 (17-0 win). The 17-goal margin of victory overall and at home is the most by a USCAA Division I school since D'Youville University won by 16 versus then-USCAA Division II Villa Maria College on September 8, 2021 (17-1). The 17-goal margin of victory overall is the most by Manor since they won 12-0 at Lehigh Carbon on September 19, 2015. When Manor scored two or more goals in a match, they were 9-1-0 in those contests.
Defensively, the Blue Jays held its opponents to two or fewer goals in 15 of the 20 matches played and posted a 9-5-1 win-loss-tie record in those contests.
They are also undefeated when leading at halftime this season (8-0-0) and since the 2021 season (21-0-0).
Manor won four of its last five matches of the regular season. They became the first ESAC team to play in three straight conference championship matches. The Blue Jays finished the regular season as an offensively and defensively improved team from the 2023 season.
The Blue Jays were selected as the sixth seed in the USCAA Division I Small College National Championship Tournament in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was the second time in three seasons Manor received a bid.
Individually, senior defenseman Maximo Chavez (King of Prussia, PA/Upper Merion), freshman forward Moussa Cherif (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge), sophomore midfielder Adan Crispin-Morales (Norristown, PA/Norristown), sophomore defenseman Lucas Dolchanczyk (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter), junior forward Kounda Doucoure (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin), junior midfielder Shiube Larabi Philadelphia, PA/Science Leadership Academy), and freshman midfielder Jallah Murvee (Philadelphia, PA/Upper Darby) finished in the USCAA Division I top-25 in at least one offensive category. Junior Aiden Holman (Hamilton, NJ/Hamilton) finished among USCAA Division I goalkeepers in the top-five in seven categories, another in the top-10, and another in the top-15.
Holman twice received USCAA Division I Goalkeeper of the Week and was named to the USCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-Academic Team with junior defenseman George McDermott (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast Prep).
Junior defenseman Mamadou Ba (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Learning Center), Crispin-Morales, and Holman were selected All-ESAC First Team. Chavez, Cherif, and freshman defenseman Zukefal Shakir (Upper Darby, PA/Upper Darby) were selected All-ESAC Second Team. Senior midfielder Abubakar Bangura (Philadelphia, PA/John Bartram), Holman, and freshman defenseman Scothy Marc (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels) were named to the ESAC Fall 2024 Semester All-Academic Team.
Crispin-Morales and Holman were voted to the USCAA Division I Men's Soccer All-American Second Team. Cherif was voted Honorable Mention. Murvee was named to the USCAA Division I Small College All-Tournament Team.
Women's Soccer (1-5-0, 0-4-0)
The Blue Jays mostly competed against USCAA and ESAC schools. Their ESAC schedule included USCAA Division II Bucks County and nationally-ranked Christendom. Christendom won the ESAC regular and postseason championships and was USCAA Division II Small College National Championship Tournament Runners-Up. They also played against Patrick Henry College.
Their lone NJCAA Region XIX Division III match was versus Lehigh Carbon Community College on September 24. Manor defeated Lehigh Carbon at home, 4-1, for its first win as a USCAA member. This was Manor's first win since September 26, 2017 versus Montgomery County (5-4 in overtime). This was also the Blue Jays' first regulation win since October 13, 2012 versus the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Union County Owls (11-2).
Individually, freshman center midfielder Ava Burski (Bensalem, PA/Bensalem) finished in the USCAA Division I top-10 per match in the following categories: assists, overall shots, and shots on goal. Sophomore center back Jacqueline Gardner (Philadelphia, PA/MaST Community Charter School) finished in the top-25 in USCAA Division I in assists per match. Junior center midfielder Myla Keller (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge) finished in the top-15 in points per match and the top-25 in overall shots and shots on goal per match. Freshman goalkeeper Mary Dillon (Philadelphia, PA/Pennsylvania Cyber Charter School) led USCAA Division I in minutes per match, top-five in save percentage and saves per match, and in the top-10 in goals against average. Freshman goalkeeper Samantha Santos (Upper Darby, PA/Upper Darby) finished in the top-10 in saves per match.
Brown and sophomores Vada Kane (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) and Kara Quinn (Lansdale, PA/Lansdale Catholic) were named to the USCAA Division I Women's Soccer All-Academic Team.
Burski. Keller, and Quinn were selected All-ESAC First Team. Brown, sophomore midfielder Alexandra Coyotl-Arias (Toms River, NJ/Lakewood), Dillon, Kane, Quinn, and Morton were named to the ESAC Fall 2024 Semester All-Academic Team.
Gardner and Keller were voted USCAA Division I Women's Soccer All-Americans and Burski was voted Honorable Mention. They are the first Manor Women's Soccer players to be voted to an All-American team.
Men's Outdoor Track and Field
Competed in the following three meets this season: on the second days of the Danny Curran Invitational (hosted by NCAA Division III Widener University), Ursinus Track and Field Festival, and Bill Butler Invitational (hosted by NCAA Division II West Chester University). The Blue Jays ran against NCAA Division I, II, and III; NJCAA Division I and III; and USCAA competition.
Women's Outdoor Track and Field
This is Manor's fifth year and fourth as a USCAA member. They competed in the following three meets this season: on the second days of the Danny Curran Invitational (hosted by NCAA Division III Widener University), Ursinus Track and Field Festival, and Bill Butler Invitational (hosted by NCAA Division II West Chester University). The Blue Jays ran against NCAA Division I, II, and III; NJCAA Division I and III; and USCAA competition. They are scheduled to participate in the USCAA Track and Field Championships at NCAA Division II American International College, and hosted by USCAA member Hampshire College.
Sophomore Ronise Exil (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels) broke her own USCAA school record in the 400 meters with a time of 1:20.60 on the second day of the Bill Butler Invitational at West Chester on April 12. Brown set a personal best in the 800 with a time of 3:23.61 on the second day of the Ursinus Track and Field Festival on April 5. Senior Aidan Geiger (Glenside, PA/Abington) set personal bests in the 100 (at the Bill Butler Invitational), 200 (at the Ursinus Track and Field Festival), and 400 (on the second day of the Danny Curran Invitational).. She became the first Women's Track and Field athlete to participate in four events in a single meet (100, 200, 400, and 4 X 100 relay). Geiger accomplished this at the Bill Butler Invitational. Morton set a season best in the 200 at the Ursinus Track and Field Festival. Junior Alexandra Simmons (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham) set personal bests at the Bill Butler Invitational in the 100 and 200.
Manor competed in three events on the second day of the USCAA Track and Field Championships, hosted by Hampshire College in Springfield, Massachusetts. The Championships were held at the John G. Hoyt '52 Track and Field Complex on the campus of the NCAA Division II American International College Yellow Jackets. Brown, Geiger, Simmons, and Exil ran in the 4 X100 and finished with a season-best time of 1:07.96, surpassing their time of 1:11.38 on the second day of the Bill Butler Invitational at West Chester on April 12. Exil and Geiger also ran in the 400. Exil's time of 1:21.17 set a school USCAA Track and Field National Championships record. Brown also ran in the 800. Manor finished tied for 16th with Pennsylvania State University-Scranton with 2.0 points. This is the fourth straight year the Blue Jays have competed in the USCAA Track and Field National Championships.
Brown, Geiger, and Morton were named to the ESAC Fall 2024 Semester All-Academic Team.
Brown and Geiger were named the USCAA Women's Outdoor Track and Field National All-Academic Team.
Women's Volleyball (1-6)
Manor competed in seven matches this season, mostly versus NJCAA Region XIX Division III and USCAA competition. They played against Harrisburg Area, Lehigh Carbon, and RCSJ-Gloucester. The Blue Jays also played home and away matches versus Cheyney University. Lehigh Carbon was nationally-ranked at the time when they played Manor. The Cougars also finished the regular season as Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Champions. Harrisburg Area went on to win the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Postseason Tournament Championship and competed in NJCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.
The Blue Jays' lone USCAA opponent was Division II Penn State-Scranton on September 30 in Dumore, Pennsylvania. They won its first match as a USCAA member, 3-0, versus the Nittany Lions. Manor's last overall win was on October 8, 2019 versus the Colonels, 3-2 (26-24, 12-25, 13-25, 25-13, 15-10), at Manor (29 matches). The Blue Jays last road win was October 9, 2018 versus the Colonels, 3-0 (25-15, 25-17, 25-18) (16 matches). This was the Blue Jays' first set win since October 19, 2021 when they won 25-18 in the first set versus the Cheyney University Wolves at Manor (51 sets). This was the Manor's first road set win since winning the third set, 25-18, on October 8, 2019 versus the NJCAA Region XIX Division III Community College of Philadelphia Colonels (48 sets).
Individually, sophomore outside hitter Kayla Torres (Levittown, PA/Harry S. Truman) led USCAA Division I in service aces per set. Velez was fifth in service aces per set. Freshman libero and setter Angelina Tannura (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley High School) was 20th in assists per set. As a team, Manor finished fifth in service aces per set.
Coyotl-Arias, Kane, Morton, Waters, and freshman outside hitter Nikole Wertz (Levittown, PA/Bucks County Technical) were named to the ESAC Fall 2024 Semester All-Academic Team.
Kane and Waters were each named to the USCAA Division I Women's Volleyball All-Academic Team.
