JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College handed out its annual student-athlete awards.  Each sport (Baseball, Men's Basketball, Women's Country, Men's and Women's Soccer, Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field, Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field, and Women's Volleyball) handed out awards for Most Valuable Player, Coaches Award, and Most Improved. Coaches of the Year were announced.  The Brian Barry Award was also handed out for each sport instead of one student-athlete. A Special Recognition Award was also announced.

Manor Director of Athletics and Head Men's Soccer Coach John Dempster served as the emcee.

Baseball (Presented by Head Coach Charles "P.J." Hackett)

• Most Valuable Player: Anthony Ortiz, FR. C-P (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter).

• Coaches: Yerlad Duran, FR, OF (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln).

• Most Improved: Jacob Torres, SO, OF (Mays Landing, NJ/Cedar Creek).

Men's Basketball (Presented by Head Coach Leo Mahon)

• Most Valuable Players: Manny Roach, FR, (Medford, NJ/Life Center Academy) and Namir Simmons, JR, G (Philadelphia, PA/Academy Park).

• Coaches: Cheikh Diagne (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast).

• Most Improved: Deacon Linder, SO, F (Philadelphia, PA/Hardy Williams Academy [Mastery]).

Women's Cross Country (Presented by Head Coach Jeff McCann)

• Most Valuable Player: Ronise Exil, FR (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels).

• Coaches: Olivia Morton, SO (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert).

Men's Soccer (Presented by Dempster)

• Most Valuable Players: Gabriel Elliott, SR, D (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) andEddie Fortescue Jr (Blue Bell, PA/Wissahickon).

• Coaches: Maximo Chavez, JR, D (King of Prussia, PA/Norristown).

• Most Improved: Lucas Dolchanczyk, FR, D (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter).

Women's Soccer (Presented by Head Coach Tom Gangi)

• Most Valuable Player: Myla Keller, SO, CM (Perkasie, PA/Pennridge).

• Coaches: Lauren Brown, SO, CM (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert).

• Most Improved: Alexandra Coyotl-Arias, FR, MF (Toms River, NJ/Lakewood).

Men's Indoor Track and Field (Presented by McCann)

• Most Valuable Player: Phaizon Thompson, FR (Philadelphia, PA/Benjamin Franklin).

Women's Indoor Track and Field (Presented by Assistant Coach William Rodebaugh)

• Coaches: Adian Geiger, SR (Glenside, PA/Abington).

Men's Outdoor Track and Field (Presented by McCann)

• Most Valuable Player: Phaizon Thompson.

Women's Outdoor Track and Field (Presented by McCann)

• Most Valuable Player: Jessie Dupre, SR (Philadelphia, PA/Swenson Arts and Technology).

Women's Volleyball (Presented by Dempster)

• Most Valuable Player: Brooke Strassle, JR, S/MB (Conshohocken, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh).

• Coaches: Joselyn Olivencia, SO, BR (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast).

• Most Improved: Kayla Torres FR, OHL (Levittown, PA/Harry S. Truman).

The 2023 Eastern States Athletic Conference (ESAC) Men's Soccer Championship Banner was unveiled.  The 2023 ESAC Men's Soccer Championship Banner hangs on the balcony inside the Mother of Perpetual Help Hall Gymnasium along with the following: Aaron Brown (Men's Basketball Most Career Points), Mark Colville (Men's Soccer Most Career Points), 2022 USCAA Division I Small College National Championship Tournament (Men's Soccer), and 2021-2022 USCAA Division I Small College National Championship Tournament (Men's Basketball).

Two Coaches of the Year were announced.  The first was presented by Dempster and it was awarded to Men's Head Basketball Coach Leo Mahon.  The second was presented by Manor Admissions Counselor, former Men's Soccer defenseman, and Class of 2018 graduate Damian Schweizer.  It was awarded to Dempster.

The Brian Barry Award goes to the student-athlete that personifies good sportsmanship and is a team player.  Each sport handed out this award.  This award was presented by Dempster.  Listed below are this year's recipients:

• Baseball: Almanie Reyes Torres, FR, INF-P (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln).

• Men's Basketball: Eddie Fortescue Jr, SR, G.

• Men's Soccer: Adan Crispin-Morales, FR, MF (Norristown, PA/Norristown).

• Women's Soccer: Sylvania Juste, JR, CM (Philadelphia, PA/Samuel Fels).

• Women's Indoor Track and Field: Jessie Dupre, SR.

• Women's Outdoor Track and Field: Neysha Medina, JR (Philadelphia, PA/Constitution).

• Women's Volleyball: Cheyann Velez, FR, OHR (Philadelphia, PA/Kensington HS for the Creative and Performing Arts).

The Special Recognition Award was announced by Dempster.  This year's recipient is senior Tamara Ellerbe (Philadelphia, PA/Murrell Dobbins Career and Technical).  Ellerbe is the first Manor student to win this award.  She is also a Human Services major and has also won the 2024 Mother Josaphat Medal and 2024 Kyle Macintosh Memorial Award.
