MANOR COLLEGE MEN’S SOCCER LOSES USCAA DIVISION I  MEN’S SOCCER SMALL COLLEGE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT MATCH TO SALEM (WEST VIRGINIA) UNIVERSITY

VIRGINIA BEACH, VA— Salem (West Virginia) University (9-5-4) freshman defenseman Andrea Fincato scored two consecutive first-half goals and the defense allowed four overall shots as the sixth-seeded Tigers shut out the third-seeded Manor College Blue Jays (10-5-1), 3-0, in Pool B play in the United State Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Division I Men's Soccer Small College National Championship Tournament at the Princess Anne Complex. 

Salem (West Virginia) junior Ionut Rares Gaspar's pass from around midfield went to Fincato around the 18-yard line.  Fincato's shot went into the middle of the net (18:11).  Tiger junior Ben Lam's pass from around midfield went to Fincato around the 18.  Fincato's shot went into the middle of the net (28:56).  Salem (West Virginia) led 2-0 at halftime.  The Tigers outshot the Blue Jays 18 (six on goal) to 1 (one on goal). 

Salem (West Virginia) scored the only second-half goal when Lam's corner kick went to freshman defenseman Oluwaseun Babarinde around the six.  Babarinde's head shot went into the left side of the net (55:04).  Lam got his second assist of the match on Babarinde's goal.  The Tigers outshot the Blue Jays in the second half 14 (seven on goal) to one (one on goal).  Salem (West Virginia) outshot Manor for the match 32 (13 on goal) to four (two on goal).

This was the final match of the season for both schools.

Series Record (Since 2008): This was the first match between the two schools.
