MANOR COLLEGE’S TORRES BREAKS OWN MEN’S CROSS COUNTRY SCHOOL DISTANCE RECORD AT THE JACK ST. CLAIR MEMORIAL CROSS COUNTRY RACE

PHILADELPHIA, PA—Manor College freshman Jacob Torres (Mays Landing, NJ/Cedar Creek) broke his own Blue Jay Men's Cross Country distance record at the Jack St. Clair Memorial Cross Country at the Belmont Plateau in Fairmount Park, hosted by NCAA Division II Thomas Jefferson University.

Torres ran a 35:02.4 in the 8,000-meter distance, breaking his own record of 36:25.2 at the Dan Talbot at Rose Tree Park in Media, Pennsylvania on October 1 2022.  Manor did not score in the event.

Philadelphia Track Runner Club member Jason Richwall won the individual race in 27:30.1 out of 122 competitors.  Philadelphia Track Runner Club also won the meet with 17 points and finished with a total time of 2:19.21.  Chestnut Hill College (NCAA Division II) junior Christopher Nelson was the top collegiate finisher with a time in 28:24.1 which was sixth overall.

The following NCAA Division III schools also participated in this meet: Cairn University, Haverford College, Kean University, Pennsylvania State University-Abington, Pennsylvania State University-Berks, and Rutgers University-Newark.

The following NCAA Division II schools (including Chestnut Hill and Jefferson) participated in this event: Bloomfield College, Holy Family University, and Lincoln University (Pennsylvania).

Temple University was the only NCAA Division I member participating in this race.

Manor was the only USCAA members participating schools in this meet.

Howard Community College (Region XX Division II) and Williamson College of the Trades (Region XIX Division III) were the only NJCAA schools participating in this race.

Belmont Harriers AC, Moore Elite Track Club, and Philadelphia Track Runner Club were the only unaffiliated teams participating in this event.

Next Meet: Manor is scheduled to participate in the Pennsylvania State University-Brandywine Invitational on Saturday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. in Media, Pennsylvania.
