MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS WILLIAMSON COLLEGE OF THE TRADES

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (3-3-0, 1-1 Eastern States Athletic Conference) freshman midfielder/forward Rolph Miot (Philadelphia, PA/Northeast) scored two goals as the Blue Jays defeated the Williamson College Mechanics (1-2-1, 0-1), 4-1. 

The Blue Jays scored early on a sophomore midfielder John Levy's (Philadelphia, PA/Franklin Towne Charter) corner kick that went into the upper left-hand corner of the net for his second goal of the season (2:00).  Manor added to its lead when Miot ran up the left side of the field outside the 18-yard line and to inside the box.  His shot went into the right-corner of the net for his fourth goal of the season (19:00).  Manor out shot Williamson in the first half, 20 (11 on goal) to four (one on goal). 

Sophomore midfielder/defenseman Maximo Chavez' (Norristown, PA/Norristown Area) cross from outside the 18 went to sophomore defenseman Gabriel Elliott (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) inside the 18.  Elliott's shot went into the middle of the net for his first goal of the season (62:00).   Elliott's pass from outside the 18 went to Miot inside the box.  Miot's head shot went into the net for his second goal of the match and fifth of the season (70:00).  Williamson freshman midfielder/forward Brandon Cairy closed out the scoring when his shot outside of the 18 went into the middle of the net (88:00).   Manor outshot Williamson in the second half, nine (four on goal) to four (three on goal).  The Blue Jays outshot the Mechanics, 29-8, for the match.

Series Record:  Manor leads the season series, 4-0-0 (2-0-0 at home) (since 2008).  Before today's match, the Blue Jays and Mechanics previously met on October 9, 2017, at Manor.

Next Match:  Manor travels to NJCAA Region XIX Division III Delaware County Community College on Tuesday, October 5 at 3:30 p.m. in Media, Pennsylvania.  The Blue Jays are 7-1-0 overall (2-1-0 at on the road) versus the Phantoms (since 2008), including four straight wins.  Manor won the previous match-up, 8-2, at Manor, on September 14, 2019.  The Blue Jays also won the previous contest at Delaware County, 2-1, on September 17, 2016. 

Next Home Match: Manor hosts USCAA Division II Bucks County Community College on Thursday, October 21 at 3:30 p.m. The Centurions lead the season series 6-5-0 (since 2008).  Manor is 4-1-0 at home versus Bucks County, including the previous home match-up, 3-1, on September 15, 2016.  The Centurions won the previous contest, 2-1, in double overtime, on September 21, 2021.
