JENKINTOWN, PA—Today's Manor College Athletics Questions and Answers during COVID-19 is with Men's and Women's Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field Head Coach Jeff McCann.

McCann is the first Blue Jays' Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Head Coach in school history.  The article announcing his hiring can be read at this link.

Question: Do you have any tips for working from home?

McCann: "Try to keep a consistent time schedule for work, exercise, and meals.  Use internet resources (videos and images) to augment your communications.  I have been sending athletes YouTube videos along with exercise ideas to make it more interesting and useful."

Question: How are you connecting with your student-athletes?

McCann: "I am connecting through e-mail."

Question: How are you connecting with administrators and other coaches?

McCann: "I am connecting through e-mail."

Question: Do you have any anecdotes/stories on how you are moving forward during COVID-19?

McCann: "I have tried to keep the Manor runners engaged by sending working plans and other exercise materials and videos. I have also tried to be as encouraging and supportive as I can giving the mental challenges this quarantine imposes.

Many Manor students are still doing their best to stay fit despite the challenges.  Yaseer McKeithan reached out, asking how to improve his explosive power and acceleration.  Billy Rodebaugh has been logging his runs on a treadmill.  I have been impressed at how resilient Manor athletes are."

Question: What is your outlook on the upcoming Men's and Women's Cross Country and Indoor and Outdoor Track and Field seasons?

McCann: "Despite the difficult times I have still been receiving a steady stream of communications from students interested in Track and Field and Cross Country.  We also had a large turnout for our shortened spring track season.  This makes me very optimistic for the next years Cross Country and Track seasons, both for the size of the turnout and the enthusiasm of the athletes."
