ON THIS DATE IN MANOR COLLEGE ATHLETICS HISTORY: MANOR ANNOUNCES ITS ANNUAL STUDENT-ATHLETE AWARDS (MAY 17, 2016)

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College Athletics dates back to the Spring of 1960 when the Women's Basketball team played Holy Family.  In its continuing series, Manor Athletics will look back at the memorable games and moments in the College's history.  Today's moment features Manor Athletics announcing its Annual Student-Athlete Awards on May 17, 2016.

The 2015-2016 award winners were as follows:

 

Men's Basketball

  • Most Valuable Player: William Davis, C (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington).
  • Coaches Award: Thomas Farrior Jr., G (Willingboro, NJ/Willingboro).
  • Outstanding Performance Award: William Davis, C.

 

Women's Basketball

  • Most Valuable Player: Tamara Sellers, G (Camden, NJ/Meteast).
  • Coaches Award: Carolyn Cosey, G (Fort Washington, MD/Henry Wise).
  • Outstanding Performance Award: Shawn Dowd, F (Upper Darby, PA/Upper Darby).

 

Men's Soccer

  • Most Valuable Player: Michael Usher, F (Philadelphia, PA/Archbishop Ryan).
  • Coaches Award: Duke Gbolue, D (Philadelphia, PA/George Washington).
  • Outstanding Performance Award: Louis Antoine, F (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln).

 

Women's Volleyball

  • Most Valuable Player: Marissa Ginley, OH (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert).
  • Coaches Award: Stephanie Cifelli, OH/MB (Philadelphia, PA/Agora Cyber Charter).
  • Outstanding Performance Award: Julianne Kostic, OH (Philadelphia, PA/Bishop McDevitt).

 

The following student-athletes earned academic achievement awards from Manor College with a 3.50 grade-point average (or better): 

  • Louis Antoine (Men's Soccer).
  • Stephanie Cifelli (Women's Volleyball).
  • Thomas Hipwell (Men's Soccer) (Cheltenham, PA/Cheltenham).
  • Julianne Kostic (Women's Basketball and Volleyball).
  • Tyler Macintyre (Men's Soccer) (Philadelphia, PA/Calvary Christian Academy).

 

The Brian Barry Award goes to the student-athlete that personifies good sportsmanship and is a team player.  Sophomore men's soccer goalkeeper Andrew Clark Jr. (Philadelphia, PA/Abraham Lincoln) was that year's honoree.
