MANOR COLLEGE LOSES FINAL HOME REGULAR SEASON MATCH TO HARRISBURG AREA COMMUNITY COLLEGE

JENKINTOWN, PA—The Harrisburg Area Community College Hawks (12-1 Overall, 10-1 Region XIX Division III, 14-0 EPAC) defeated Manor College in the Blue Jays' (1-13, 1-9, 1-12) final regular season home match, 3-0 (25-10, 25-16, and 25-18).

This was final home match for five Blue Jay sophomores.  The five players are as follows: Maryam Abdulmatin (Philadelphia, PA/Friere Charter), Samantha Diaz (Philadelphia, PA/Fels), Kedliany Ramirez-Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford), Pricilla Vega (Philadelphia, PA/Olney), and Tyanna Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Saul).

Diaz led Manor with 4.0 points and contributed six digs.  Freshman Kat Kilmer (New York, NY/Columbia Prep) paced the Blue Jays with seven digs.  Ramirez-Rodriguez led the Blue Jays with four assists.

Sophomore Alyssa Kimmel led both teams with 11 kills, nine service aces, 12 digs, and 21.0 points.  Sophomore Madi Miller added nine kills, five digs, and 10.0 points.  Freshman Halie Johnson contributed six service aces and 9.0 points for Harrisburg Area Community College.  Freshman Hannah Van Pelt added six assists and 5.0 points.  Freshman Shelby Hildebrand paced both squads with 15 assists.  Freshman Kara Starr contributed 10 digs for the Hawks.

Series Record:  Harrisburg Area swept both matches and leads the season series, 12-0 (4-0 at Manor) (since 2010).

Next Match: Manor travels to play NJCAA Division III and EPAC opponent Luzerne County Community College on Saturday, October 6 at Noon in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania  The Trailblazers lead the season series 7-2 (4-1 at Luzerne County) (since 2010).  Luzerne County won the previous match-up, 3-0 (25-12, 25-23, and 25-17) at Manor on September 8, 2018 as part of a tri-match.
