JENKINTOWN, PA—The Lehigh Carbon Community College Cougars (8-6 Overall, 5-5 Region XIX Division III, 6-5 EPAC) are victorious versus the Manor College Blue Jays (1-8, 1-7, 1-7), 3-0 (25-16, 25-18, and 25-14).
Freshman Kat Kilmer (New York, NY/Columbia Prep) led Manor with five kills, four service aces, and 9.0 points. She also paced both teams with eight digs. Freshman Kate Hendricks-Coyle (Abington, PA/St. Basil's) added four service aces, and 5.0 points. Sophomore Kelidany Ramirez Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) led the Blue Jays with seven assists. Sophomore Samantha Diaz (Philadelphia, PA/Fels) paced the Blue Jays with 10 digs and contributed five service aces, four assists, and 7.0 points. Sophomore Pricilla Vega (Philadelphia, PA/Olney) added six digs.
Freshman Irmary Salas Negran led both teams with eight service aces and 15.0 points. She added five digs, seven kills, and nine assists. Freshman Mackenzie Rosenberger paced both teams with nine kills and contributed five digs and 12.0 points. Sophomore Jomary Rosado Santana led both squads with 10 assists. She added 6.0 points.
Series Record: Lehigh Carbon leads the season series, 9-1 (2-0 at Manor) (since 2010).
Next Home Match: Manor hosts NJCAA Division III and EPAC opponent Harrisburg Area Community College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2. The Hawks lead the season series 11-0. Harrisburg Area won the previous match-up, 3-0 (25-11, 25-11, and 25-15), on September 6, 2017 in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. This will be final home match for five Manor sophomores. The five players are as follows: Maryam Abdulmatin (Philadelphia, PA/Friere Charter), Diaz, Ramirez-Rodriguez, Vega, and Tyanna Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Saul).
