JENKINTOWN, PA—The Cheyney University Wolves (1-3) wins its first match of the season versus the Manor College Blue Jays (1-8), 3-1 (25-14, 23-25, 25-20, and 25-21).
This is the first time the Blue Jays played a non-NJCAA school since joining the NJCAA Women's Volleyball for the 2010 season.
Sophomore Kelidany Ramirez Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) led Manor with 10 kills, nine assists, and 16.0 points. Freshman Kat Kilmer (New York, NY/Columbia Prep) contributed six kills, nine digs, and 8.0 points. Sophomore Samantha Diaz (Philadelphia, PA/Fels) paced the Blue Jays with 10 digs and contributed five service aces, four assists, and 7.0 points. Freshman Kate Hendricks-Coyle (Abington, PA/St. Basil's) added six digs, three service aces, and 5.0 points.
Series Record: Cheyney leads the season series, 1-0 (1-0 at Manor) (since 2010).
Next and Home Match: Manor hosts NJCAA Division III and EPAC opponent Lehigh Carbon Community College on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 p.m. The Cougars lead the season series 8-1 (1-0 at Manor) (since 2010). Lehigh Carbon won the previous match-up, 3-1 (25-14, 22-25, 25-14, and 26-24) as part of a tri-match in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania on September 15, 2018. The Cougars won, 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, and 25-15), the last time they played at Manor on October 5, 2013.
