JENKINTOWN, PA—The Manor College Blue Jays (1-3 Overall, 1-3 Region XIX Division III, 1-3 EPAC) wins its first match of the season, gaining a tri-match split, versus the Community College of Philadelphia Colonials (0-4, 0-4, 0-4), 3-0 (25-5, 25-17, and 25-14).

Manor College broke multiple losing streaks in the victory.  The Blue Jays broke an overall, NJCAA Region XIX, and EPAC 12-match losing streaks, dating back to the 2017 season.  They previously won, 3-2 (23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 21-25, and 15-13) versus the Colonials on September 16, 2017 in tri-match at Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.  Manor also broke a four-match home losing streak, dating back to the 2015 season.  The Blue Jays previously won, 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 20-25, and 25-20) versus the Colonials on October 12, 2015.

Sophomore Samantha Diaz (Philadelphia, PA/Fels) led both teams with nine kills, and with 18.0 points.  Freshman Kate Hendricks-Coyle (Abington, PA/St. Basil's) paced both squads with 11 service aces and contributed 12.0 points.  Sophomore Kelidany Ramirez Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) paced both teams with 21 assists.  Sophomore Maryam Abdulmatin (Philadelphia, PA/Friere Charter) contributed eight kills.  Sophomore Tyanna Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Saul) added five service aces.

Sophomore Andrea Bowleg led The Community College of Philadelphia with four assists and 5.0 points.  Freshman Elizabeth Chukwuezi paced the Colonials with three kills and contributed 4.0 points.  Freshman Talia Shefton led The Community College of Philadelphia with four digs.

Series Record:  Manor leads the season series, 4-1 (2-0 at Manor) (since 2015).

Next Home Match: Manor hosts non-NJCAA member Cheyney University on Thursday, September 20 at 7:00 p.m.  This is the first match-up between the two schools since the Blue Jays joined the NJCAA Women's Volleyball for the 2010 season.

Next Match: Manor travels to play a NJCAA Division III and EPAC Tri-Match on Saturday, September 15 at Lehigh Carbon Community College at Noon and versus Bucks County Community College at 2:00 p.m. in Schnecksville, Pennsylvania.  The Blue Jays are 1-7 (1-2 on the road) versus the Cougars (since 2010).  Lehigh Carbon won, 3-0 (25-18, 25-16, and 25-15) in Schnecksville on September 16, 2017 in its previous match-up.  The Blue Jays are 1-8 versus the Centurions (since 2010).  Manor was swept in both match-ups in three sets each last season.  Bucks County won on September 14, 2017 (25-17, 25-16, and 25-11) at Manor and September 21, 2017 (25-12, 25-8, and 25-19) at Bucks County.
