MANOR COLLEGE LOSES TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGR IN  SEASON AND HOME OPENER

JENKINTOWN, PA—Montgomery County Community College (1-0 Overall, 1-0 Region XIX Division III, 1-0 EPAC) swept Manor College (0-1, 0-1, 0-1) in the Blue Jays' season and home opener, 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, and 25-15).

Sophomore Kelidany Ramirez Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford had nine assists and five digs.  Freshman Kate Hendricks-Coyle (Abington, PA/St. Basil's) contributed three kills and five digs.  Sophomores Samantha Diaz (Philadelphia, PA/Fels) and Tyanna Williams (Philadelphia, PA/Saul) had three kills each.  Diaz led the Blue Jays with 4.0 points.

Series Record:  Montgomery County leads the season series, 11-0 (5-0 at Manor) (since 2010).

Season Openers: Manor College is 1-7 in season openers (0-3 at home) (since 2010).

Home Openers:  The Blue Jays are 0-8 in home openers since 2010.

Next Home Match: Manor hosts a NJCAA Division III and EPAC Tri-Match on Saturday, September 8 versus Luzerne County Community College at Noon and the Community College of Philadelphia at 3:30 p.m.  The Blue Jays are 2-6 (1-1 at home) versus the Trailblazers (since 2010).  Luzerne County won, 3-1 (19-25, 25-12, 25-22, and 25-9) in Nanticoke, Pennsylvania on October 10, 2017 in its previous match-up.  Manor won the previous home meeting, 3-1 (25-21, 15-25, 25-22, and 25-17), on September 12, 2015.  The Blue Jays are 3-1 versus the Colonials (since 2015).  Manor swept both match-ups in five sets each last season.  The Blue Jays won on September 16, 2017 (23-25, 25-14, 25-21, 21-25, and 15-13) in a tri-match at Lehigh Carbon Community College and September 23, 2017 (25-8, 25-15, 21-25, 22-25, and 15-13) in a tri-match at Montgomery County Community College.

Next Match: Manor travels to play NJCAA Division III and EPAC opponent Harrisburg Area Community College in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 6.  The Hawks lead the season series 10-0 (4-0 at Harrisburg Area) (since 2010) .  Harrisburg Area swept both matches last season in three sets each.  The Hawks won on September 7, 2017 (25-3, 25-11, and 25-11) at Manor and October 3, 2017 (25-11, 25-9, and 25-9) at Harrisburg Area.
