MANOR COLLEGE LOSES TO BUCKS COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE IN HOME OPENER

JENKINTOWN, PA—Bucks County Community College (5-1-0 Overall, 3-1-0 Region XIX Division III, 2-0-0 EPAC) freshman Kate Crouthamel scored five goals and contributed two assists as the Centurions defeated Manor College (0-2-0, 0-1-0, 0-1-0) in the Blue Jays home opener, 14-1.

Manor scored its goal in the seventh minute.  Following a Bucks County foul, sophomore midfielder Dominique Calio's (Philadelphia, PA/St. Hubert) direct kick from near the 50-yard line curled into the upper left-hand corner of the net past freshman goalkeeper Brianna Carsella for the Blue Jays' first goal of the season.

Sophomore Kallie Mitchell scored four goals and added an assist.  She also took 10 overall shots (eight on goal).  Crouthamel's all six shots were on goal.  Freshman Melanie Paladino contributed a pair of second-half goals.

Series Record:  Bucks County leads the season series, 5-1-1 (3-0-0 at Manor) (since 2008).

Home Openers:  The Blue Jays are 1-6-0 in home openers since 2008.

Next Home Match: Manor hosts NJCAA Division III Club Team Montgomery County Community College 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 2.  The Blue Jays are 4-2-0 (3-2-0 at home) versus the Mustangs.  Manor won, 4-3, in overtime at home on September 26, 2017 in its previous meeting at home.  They have won four straight match-ups versus Montgomery County.

Next Match:  Manor travels to play NJCAA Division III and EPAC opponent Northampton Community College in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 27.  The Spartans lead the season series 2-0-0.  Northampton won both match-ups last season, 10-2, on September 12, 2017 (at Manor), and, 12-0, on October 10, 2017 (at Northampton).
