MANOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL WINS FIRST GAME OF THE SEASON VERSUS THE COUNTY COLLEGE OF MORRIS

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (1-4 Overall, 1-4 NJCAA Region XIX Division II) freshman shooting guard/shooting forward Emazhane Livingston (Newark, NJ/Technology) and sophomore point guard Kiara Stoval Chester, PA/Ursuline Academy [DE]) led both teams with 28 points each as the Blue Jays defeated the County College of Morris Titans (3-9, 2-6), 73-66.

The victory was the first for Leo Mahon as the Blue Jays Head Coach.

The Blue Jays led after the first quarter (13-12) and at halftime (29-24) for the first time this season.  Livingston sank a three-point basket at the buzzer to end the second quarter.  Stoval led both team with 14 points at halftime.

Morris outscored Manor in the third (22-12) and led 46-41 after three quarters.  The Blue Jays outscored the Titans in the fourth (32-20) and in the second half, 44-42, en route to the win.  Livingston (12) and Stoval (11) combined to score the Blue Jays' 23 of the 32 points scored in the fourth.  Manor's 32 fourth quarter points are the most in any quarter since they scored 37 in the third quarter versus Raritan Valley Community College on February 4, 2017.  It was also the most points they scored in fourth quarter since Women's Basketball expanded to four quarters at the start of the 2016-2017 season.

Individual Statistical Leaders: Livingston also led Manor with 27 rebounds (10 offensive and 17 defensive).  Livingston led both teams with 19 second-half points.  Stoval scored 14 points in the second half.  Freshman power forward Allayna Gordon-Staley (Philadelphia, PA/Cristo Rey Philadelphia) contributed 13 rebounds.  Freshman forward Jailynn Watson (Darby, PA/Penwood) added 12 rebounds, including 10 defensive boards.  Freshman guard Shania Patterson (Philadelphia, PA/The U School) paced the Blue Jays with four steals.

Sophomore guard Sophie Fischer led Morris with 25 points.  She paced the Titans with 18 second-half points, including 11 in the fourth quarter.  Freshman guard Brielle Fedo added 17 points, including 15 second-half points.  Fischer (11) and Fedo (nine) combined to score all of Morris' 20 fourth-quarter points.  Sophomore guard Christianna Miltiadous contributed to score 13 for the Titans.

Series Record (since 2002-2003, but, the 2003-2004 season is unavailable): Manor leads the season series versus Morris, 18-1, including 10-1 at home.  The Blue Jays have 10 straight overall versus the Titans.

Next Game: Manor travels to play Mercer County Community College (4-10, 4-7) in a Region XIX Division II contest 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15 in Trenton, New Jersey.  The Blue Jays are 12-10 versus overall the Vikings (5-6 on the road, including three straight victories).  Manor swept Mercer County during the 2017-2018 season, 57-44, on November 14, 2017 (on the road) and, 66-56, on February 13, 2018 (at home).

Next Home Game: Manor hosts NJCAA Region XV Division III Sullivan County Community College Noon Sunday, January 20.  This is the first matchup between the two schools.  The Blue Jays are 0-1 versus Region XV schools.  They lost to Monroe College, 78-60, on March 8, 2014 in the NJCAA Division II District II Playoff at Dean (Massachusetts) College.  Manor is 16-6 versus Division III schools since the 2008-2009 season.
