MANOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL DEFEATED BY  ROWAN COLLEGE AT BURLINGTON COUNTY

JENKINTOWN, PA—Rowan College at Burlington County (6-6 Overall, 4-3 Region XIX Division II) freshman guard Nicole Lincifort came off the bench to score 16 points as the Barons defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (6-6, 2-5), 68-47.

The Blue Jays started the game with its largest lead of the game, 8-1, with 6:55 left in the first quarter on freshman forward/center Kellicia Brown's (Philadelphia, PA) three-point basket.  The Barons finished off the remainder of the quarter on a 9-4 run, but, Manor led 12-10 after the first.

After Brown's free throw gave the Blue Jays a 13-12 edge with 8:02 remaining in the second quarter, freshman guard Alexandria Sams' layup with 7:54 left gave the Barons the lead for good, 14-13.  Sams' basket began a 14-2 run over the next 4:16 and Rowan College at Burlington County led 28-15 with 3:38 remaining.  Freshman center Tamecia Ransom's layup, with an assist by Sams completed the run.  Rowan College at Burlington County outscored Manor in the second, 19-7, and led 29-19 at halftime.

Freshman guard Kiara Stoval's (Chester, PA) layup off of a missed shot in the first minute of the third quarter closed the gap to 29-21.  Freshman guard/forward Ayanna Lewis' three point basket with 8:24 left expanded Rowan College at Burlington County's lead to 32-21.  The Barons maintained a double-digit advantage for the remainder of the third, and, the closest Manor got was 42-30 on Stoval's free throw with 2:33 remaining.  The Barons outscored the Blue Jays, 18-11, in the third and led 47-30.

Manor began the fourth quarter on a 12-2 run and got within seven points (49-42) on Stoval's layup with 7:13 left.  This was the closest the Blue Jays got to the Barons since early in the third quarter.  Rowan College at Burlington responded, scoring 12 consecutive points over the next 4:07 and opened up a 61-42 lead.  Lincifort's layup with 3:06 remaining completed the run.  The Barons outscored the Blue Jays, 21-17, in the fourth, and, 39-28, in the second half.

Individual Statistical Leaders: Freshman guard Alize Felton (New Castle, DE) led Manor with 15 points and paced both teams with four steals.  Brown led both teams with 19 rebounds.  Freshman Alliya Austin (Pottstown, PA) contributed a "double-double" with 10 points and 16 rebounds.

Ransom (14 points and 10 rebounds) and Lewis (10 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds) each contributed "double-doubles" for the Barons.  Lewis also paced both teams with six assists.  Sams came off the bench to score 13 points

Series Record: The Blue Jays are 12-11 overall (7-5 at home) versus the Barons.  The defeat to Rowan College at Burlington County broke a four-game overall and two-game home winning streaks.  The Barons last won at Manor on December 15, 2015 (93-73).

Next Game: Manor hosts Union County College 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 16. 2018.  The Blue Jays are 5-15 versus the Owls.  Union County has won the last nine meetings overall, including four at Manor.  Manor lost its previous game versus Union on the road, 65-46, on November 18, 2017.
