MANOR WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ROUTS THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE OF PHILADELPHIA IN OPENER

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (1-0 Overall) sophomore forward/center Kellicia Brown (Philadelphia, PA) led both teams with 23 points and 18 rebounds as they defeated the visiting Division III Community College of Philadelphia (0-1), 93-23, in the season opener for both schools.

The Blue Jays scored the first 12 points of the game.  Sophomore guard/forward Jaquay Williams' (Philadelphia, PA) three-point basket gave Manor its first double-digit advantage of the game (12-0) with 6:40 remaining in the opening quarter.  Colonials' freshman guard Kiyarh Beckham's jump shot ended Manor's run with 6:25 left.  Manor opened up its first 20-point lead (24-3) with 2:23 remaining on freshman guard Kiara Stoval's (Chester, PA), with an assist by freshman guard Alize Felton (New Castle, DE) off of a Community College of Philadelphia turnover.  Stoval's layup off another Colonial turnover finished off an 11-0 run over a 4:17 stretch.  Her basket gave Manor its largest lead of the quarter, 26-3.  The Blue Jays led 28-7 after the first quarter.

Brown's layup of her own miss gave Manor a 38-7 advantage with 7:28 left.  The Blue Jays scored 12 straight points in the first 3:18 of the second quarter and led 40-7 with 6:42 remaining.  Austin's basket off of a missed shot completed the run.  Felton's three-point basket, with an assist by Williams gave Manor a 49-9 lead with 1:37 left in the half.  Another Felton three-point basket and Williams assist finished off another 12-0 run (over a 5:08 stretch) increased the Blue Jays' lead to 52-9.  Manor outscored the Community College of Philadelphia, 27-4, and led 55-11 at halftime.

The Blue Jays increased its lead to 68-18 on Brown's layup with 5:15 remaining the third quarter.  Manor scored 12 consecutive points over the final 5:15 of the quarter.  Williams' layup with 1:46 left gave the Blue Jays a 79-18 advantage.  The Blue Jays outscored the Colonials, 25-7, in the quarter and led 80-18 after three.

Stoval's free throws with 2:11 left in the game closed out the scoring for both team.  Manor scored the final eight points of the contest and outscored the Community College of Philadelphia, 13-5, in the fourth quarter.  The Blue Jays outscored the Colonials 48-12 in the second half, en route to the 93-23 victory.

Individual Statistical Leaders: Freshman forward/center Alliya Austin (Pottstown, PA) contributed her first collegiate "double-double," scoring 21 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.  Stoval added 18 points and five rebounds and Felton registered 15 points and six rebounds. Williams scored 12 and led both teams with six assists.
