Lady Jays Finish Burlington CC by 19

"We wanted to get off to a good start and play really aggressively on defense," says Coach Rob Reeves.

The Lady Jays were all scoring machines.  Starter and team captain Dom Williams led the team with 17 points, while teammate point guard, Amber Lomax netted 17 points as well.  Lomax also had 8 rebounds, while Safiya Hernandez came off the bench and had 8 rebounds herself and Sierra Wilkinson had 10 rebounds.

The Lady Jays played a great game defensively, which is exactly what Coach Rob was hoping for.  "We were solid on the defensive floor, and we kept getting rebounds," says Coach Rob.

Williams says, "As a team we are looked really strong going to the ball and passing out to the guards."

At the end of the first half, the Lady Jays led BCC 32-19, feeling confident and excited to come out the second half and play strong.

Team captain, Mohargany Jones says, "We got a lot of steals during the game, which was great."

During the second half the Lady Jays came out strong and ready to keep up the momentum.  The Lady Jays netted another 41 points in the second half, making the final score 73 – 54.

This game was a great victory for the Lady Jays because it gets them just one more game closer to playoffs.  The Lady Jays are 13-5 right now, and have their eyes set on making playoffs and winning the championship.

Come on out this Saturday and watch the Lady Jays take on Lackawanna College in our home court at 1pm.
