Lady Jays Return After Holiday Break With Big Win Vs. Delaware CCC

After nearly three weeks off from their regular season games, the Lady Jays didn't let the holiday break get them off course.  This past Tuesday, January 6, our Lady Jays travelled to Delaware County Community College and came out with a big win, beating Delaware CCC 74 – 38.

Going into the game the Lady Jays were outshooting Delaware CCC and finished the first half in the lead by 8 points.  Coach Robert Reeves says, "We started the game off very slow but we picked it up in the second half."

In the second half the Lady Jays changed a few things up defensively, and that made all the difference.  Starters, Dom Williams, Amber Lomax and Aallyah Thurman scored double-digit points, while Mohargany Jones led the game with nine rebounds.  Team captain Yolanda Dantzler played an integral part with six rebounds, five points and two blocks.

Team Captain and January Athlete of the Month, Dom Williams says, "Some good moments during this game was during the game none of my teammates were out of shape and everyone scored!"

The Lady Jays outscored Delaware CCC in the second half by 28 points, making the final score 74-38.

The Lady Jays season is just about half over, and with an overall record of 8-3  and we wanted to check in with Coach Rob and Team Captain, Dom Williams to see how the team is doing.

"I believe our team chemistry is getting better as we move through the season," says, Williams.

Coming up the Lady Jays will take on Montgomery County Community College on our home court this Saturday, January 10 at 1 pm.
