Women’s Basketball Sweeps County College of Morris

On Tuesday, December 16 our Women's Basketball team swept County College of Morris 79-38 on their home court.

It was a great game for the Lady Jays – a game filled with teamwork and lots of scoring.  Team Captain, Dom Williams had 20 points, 3 rebounds, 7 assists and 11 steals.  Williams says, "During the game, we just ran our offences and played really aggressively."

The Lady Jays scored 32 points in the first half, leading County College of Morris by 17.

Guard, Aallyah Thurman scored 16 points and guard Amber Lomax scored 12 points and had 4 rebounds.

Williams says, "We were doing small things that need to be done at every game, like talking on defense and encouraging each other – these small things really helped us work together to get the win."

The Lady Jays took it away during the second half, scoring another 46 points, finishing the game 79-38.

Coach Robert Reeves says, "We have grown as a team. Our maturity and trust in one another has been great. We didn't have this type of team chemistry at the beginning of the season."

This game was a great victory for the Lady Jays, and a great way to end their finals week!

The Lady Jays are currently 7-3 and will be having a few weeks off for the holidays.  They will be back against Delaware County Community College in January.
