MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER SHUTS OUT WEBB INSTITUTE IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON HOME GAME

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (5-7-0) freshmen midfielder Jonathan Ventura-Garcia (Philadelphia, PA) contributed his first collegiate hat trick (along with an assist) as the Blue Jays blanked the USCAA Division II Webb Institute Webbies (0-7-0), 9-0, in its final regular season home game.

Manor opened up the scoring in first half on corner kick.  Ventura-Garcia's corner kick went to sophomore defenseman Justin Dillon (Philadelphia, PA).  Dillon's head shot went into the left side of the net for his first goal of the season (14:34).  Ventura-Garcia's shot outside of the 18-yard line went into the left side of the net for his third goal of the season (32:36).  Dillon scored his second goal of the match on a breakaway.  His shot went into the right side of the net (42:01).  The Blue Jays led 3-0 at halftime and outshot the Webbies 34 (16 on goal) to zero in the first half.

The Blue Jays opened up the match in the second half.  Dillon passed the ball in the air between the 18 and 50 to freshman Gabriel Elliot (Philadelphia, PA).  Elliot's shot went into the right side of the net for his fourth goal of the season (48:47).  Elliot passed the ball from outside the 18 to Ventura-Garcia.  Ventura-Garcia's shot went into the left side of the side for his second goal of the match (53:15).  Sophomore midfielder Shawn Wood's (Philadelphia, PA) pass around the 18 went to Ventura-Garcia. Ventura-Garcia's shot went into the middle of the net to complete his first collegiate hat trick (62:53).  Manor outshot Harrisburg Area in the second half, 19 (10 on goal) to eight (three on goal).  Freshman midfielder Dominick Venuto (West Chester, PA) kicked the ball into the middle of the net for his second goal of the season, following a rebound off of Webb goalkeeper Jack Otto (67:24).  Sophomore defenseman Michael Schramm's (Bensalem, PA) pass around the 18 went to Wood.  Wood's shot went into the middle of the net for his first goal of the season (69:27).  Manor finished the scoring when freshman defenseman Charles Greenwood's (Philadelphia, PA) pass inside the 18 went Schramm.  Schramm's shot went into the middle of the net for his first collegiate goal (72:48).  Manor outshot the Webb in the second half, 26 (20 on goal) to two (both on goal), and 60-2 for the match.  Altogether, six different Blue Jays scored at least one goal and seven collected at least one point each.

The Blue Jays' nine goals are a season-high and the most since they scored 10 at home versus Lehigh Carbon Community College on October 8, 2016.

This is Manor's third shutout of the season (second at home).  The Blue Jays' three shutouts are the most since 2015 (three).

Series Record: This was the inaugural meeting between the two schools.

Manor versus USCAA: Manor is 8-0-1 (3-0-0 at home) versus USCAA schools.

Home Sweet Home: The Blue Jays finished with a 3-3-0 home won-loss record.  Manor outscored its opponents at home, 19 to 12, including two shutouts.  This is the third straight season that they have finished with a 0.500 or better home won-loss record.  The Blue Jays are 44-39-3 at home since joining the NJCAA for the 2008 season.

Next Game: Manor travels to play NJCAA Region XIX Division I Mercer County Community College (12-2-0 Overall, 3-1-0 Region XIX Division I) on Wednesday, October 9 in West Windsor, New Jersey at 3:30 p.m.  The Vikings are ranked ninth the latest NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Poll (as September 30).  Manor is 2-6-0 overall (1-2-0) versus NJCAA national-ranked schools since 2008.  The Blue Jays are 0-5-0 overall versus the Vikings (0-2-0 on the road).  The Blue Jays lost the previous matchup at home, 6-0, on October 10, 2018, in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania.  Manor lost the previous road contest versus the Mercer County, 8-0, on October 7, 2017.
