MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER SHUT OUT BY ROWAN COLLEGE SOUTH JERSEY-GLOUCESTER IN NON-CONFERENCE CONTEST

SEWELL, NJ—Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester (2-0-0) offense scored an early second-half goal and the defense limited Manor College (1-2-0) to six overall shots as the Roadrunners blanked the Blue Jays, 1-0, in a non-conference contest in Gloucester's home opener.

The Roadrunners outshot the Blue Jays 12 (five on goal) to six (five on goal) in the scoreless first half.  This was the second straight match this season that Manor and its opponent had a scoreless first half. 

Gloucester broke the scoreless tie early in the second half.  Sophomore midfielder Justin Phy's pass inside the left side of the 18 went to freshman midfielder Brandon Daisey.  Daisey's shot went into the right side of the net for the only goal of the game (46:35).  Gloucester had 15 second-half overall shots (eight on goal).  They did not allow any Manor second-half shots.  The Roadrunners outshot the Blue Jays, 27-6, for the match.

Manor versus NJCAA Division III: The Blue Jays are 18-24-1 overall (7-15-1 on the road) versus NJCAA Division III schools (since 2014).

Series Record:  The season series is tied, 4-4-2 (Manor is 1-3-1 at Gloucester).

Next Game:  Manor travels to Region XIX Division I Essex County College (0-0-0) in Newark, New Jersey at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10.  The Blue Jays are 1-6-0 overall (1-4-0 at Essex County) versus the Wolverines.  Manor lost at Essex County in the previous matchup, 6-1, on October 16, 2017.  This is also the Region XIX Division I opener for both schools.
