MANOR COLLEGE MEN'S SOCCER BLANKS PENN STATE-MONT ALTO FOR FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON IN ROAD OPENER

MONT ALTO, PA—Manor College (1-1-0) freshman goalkeeper Moussa Kallo (Philadelphia, PA) made eight saves in his first collegiate shutout as the Blue Jays defeated USCAA Division II and PSUAC member Pennsylvania State University-Mont Alto Nittany Lions (2-1-0), 2-0, in a non-conference contest.

The Blue Jays outshot the Nittany Lions 10 (five on goal) to five (three on goal) in the scoreless first half.

Manor broke the scoreless tie in the second half.  Freshman defenseman Rodrigo Zurita (Norristown, PA) kicked the ball up in the air from the Mont Alto side of the 50-yard line to freshman midfielder Jared Laudenslager (Philadelphia, PA) inside the left side of the 18.  Laudenslager's head shot went beyond the reach of sophomore goalkeeper Austin Moore into the right side of the net for his second goal of the season (77:06).  Blue Jays' freshman forward Wood-Jerry Georges' (Philadelphia, PA) first collegiate goal from inside the left side of the 18 gave the squad a 2-0 advantage (89:35).  Manor outshot Mont Alto, six (four on goal) to five (three on goal), in the second half and, 16-10, for the game.

Manor versus the USCAA: Manor is 4-0-1 overall (3-0-1) on the road versus the USCAA.

Manor versus the PSUAC: The Blue Jays are 5-0-1 overall (4-0-1 on the road) versus the PSUAC (since 2008).

Series Record:  Manor College leads the season series, 3-0-0 (since 2002).  This was the first time the schools have faced each since 2004 (Manor won, 5-0).

Road Openers:  The Blue Jays are 7-7-1 in road openers since 2005.  They are 4-7-1 since joining the NJCAA in 2008.  The Blue Jays are 4-5-1 in road openers under Head Coach John Dempster.

Next Game:  Manor travels to Region XIX Division III Rowan College South Jersey-Gloucester (1-0-0) in Sewell, New Jersey at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 5.  The Blue Jays defeated the Roadrunners in the previous matchup, 3-2, at Manor, on September 13, 2018.  Manor lost the previous road matchup, 2-0, on September 19, 2017. The Blue Jays lead the season series, 4-3-2 (1-2-1 at Gloucester).
