MANOR COLLEGE BLANKED BY HARCUM COLLEGE IN REGION XIX DIVISION I OPENER

JENKINTOWN, PA—Harcum College (4-1-1 Overall, 1-0-0 Region XIX Division I) goalkeeper Carter Strock and the Bears' defense held the Blue Jays to 10 shots overall (three on goal) as they shut out Manor (2-1-1, 0-1-0), 5-0.

Harcum freshman forward Ramon Gallegos scored in the 19th minute from outside the 18-yard line.  The Bears finished its first-half scoring in the 35th minute.  Freshman forward Archie Sewell's corner kick went to freshman midfielder Michael Forde.  Forde's head shot went into the left side of the net.  Harcum led at halftime, 2-0.  The Bears outshot the Blue Jays 12 (four on goal) to five (one on goal) in the first half.

Harcum scored twice in two minutes.  After a Manor foul, sophomore Mark Palage's direct kick went to freshman midfielder Abdoul Wahab inside the 18.  Wahab's head shot went into the middle of the net in the 51st minute.  Gallegos's corner kick went to freshman defenseman Luca Momic.  Momic kicked into the net in the 53rd minute.  It was second time this match that the Bears scored on a corner kick.  Harcum completed its scoring in the 80th minute.  Sewell's pass went to freshman forward Kamal Sabar outside of the 18.  Sabar's shot went into the middle of the net.  It was Sewell's second assist of the match.  Altogether, five different Bears scored goals.  Harcum outshot Manor 13 (seven on goal) to five (two on goal) in the second half and, 25-10, for the match.

Series Record:  Harcum leads the season series, 5-0-0.  They have shut the Blue Jays in four straight match-ups.

Next and Home Game: Manor hosts NJCAA Division III and nationally-ranked County College of Morris Noon Saturday, September 8.  The Blue Jays are 0-5-1 (0-3-0 at home) versus the tenth-ranked Titans.  Manor tied Morris, 1-1, in double overtime in on October 10, 2017 in its previous meeting in Randolph, NJ.  They previously hosted them on October 4, 2014 (3-2 overtime loss).
