MANOR COLLEGE DEFEATS RARITAN VALLEY

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (2-0-1 Overall) freshman midfielder/forward Julio Hernandez (Philadelphia, PA/Fels) scored two goals as the Blue Jays defeated Region XIX Division III Raritan Valley Community College Lions (0-1-0), 4-1.

Manor opened up the scoring in the eighth minute.  Freshman Therno Diallo (Philadelphia, PA/South Philadelphia) kicked the ball past freshman goalkeeper Daniel Hinson into the right side of the net.  The Blue Jays scored in the 40th minute.  Freshman midfielder Amadou Kamagate (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) passed to freshman forward/midfielder Preston Gray (Bristol, PA/Truman) inside the six-yard line.  Gray kick went off of Hinson and into the left side of the net for a 2-0 lead.  The Blue Jays opened up a 3-0 advantage in the final minute of the first half.  Hernandez' shot went off of Hinson and he kicked his own rebound into the middle of the net.  Manor led at halftime, 3-0.  The Blue Jays outshot the Lions 10 (six on goal) to six (four on goal) in the first half.

The Lions opened up the scoring in the second half in the 47th minute for its only goal of the match.  After a Manor foul, freshman center/midfielder Antonio Vicente Bailon's direct kick went into the right side of the net.  The Blue Jays answered in the 52nd minute.  Diallo passed the ball to Hernandez inside the 18.  Hernandez chipped it over Hinson into the net for his first collegiate multi-goal game.  Both schools scored one goal each in the second half, en route to Manor's 4-1 victory.  Both teams had five overall shots in the second half.  The Blue Jays had three shots on goal and Lions had two.  Manor outshot Raritan Valley, 15-11, for the match.

Defense Rests: Freshman goalkeeper Aaron Chester (Pennsauken, NJ/Pennsauken) saved six of seven Raritan Valley's shots on goal.

Series Record:  Raritan Valley leads the season series, 5-1-0.  This was their first visit to Manor since September 25, 2010.

Next and Home Game: Manor hosts Harcum College 3:30 p.m. Thursday, September 6 in its Region XIX Division I opener.  The Blue Jays are 0-4-0 (0-1-0 at home) versus the Bears.  Manor lost, 8-0, at The Proving Grounds in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania on September 26, 2017 in its previous meeting.  They previously hosted them on September 9, 2015 (4-0 loss).
