JENKINTOWN, PA—Sophomore goalkeeper Emanuel Caire (Philadelphia, PA/Fels) was named EPAC Division I Men's Soccer Player of the Year by the league office.

Caire is one of the team's captains for this season and has a Manor College Hard Hat Player of the Game Award (as selected by the Blue Jays' coaching staff).  He started 13 of the 14 games in goal for Manor.  Caire also played in two other games outside the net.  Overall, he posted a 7-5-1 record this season.  Caire has allowed two or fewer goals in nine of his 12 starts.  He registered his first collegiate shutout versus Delaware County Community College on September 28, 2017, stopping all seven shots on goal in the 2-0 win.  Caire also combined for another shutout versus Harrisburg Area Community College on October 12 in the 5-0 win in his final Blue Jay home game.

Entering games through October 31, his 96 saves are tied for 19th in NJCAA Division I.  His seven victories are tied for 50th.

Caire also appeared in four games in 2016.  He won in his first collegiate start versus Lehigh Carbon Community College on October 8, 2016.  Caire stopped nine of 10 shots and contributed an assist in the victory.  Altogether, he has played in 18 career games (14 starts) as a goalkeeper with an 8-5-1 record.

Manor College Men's Soccer eighth-year Head Coach John Dempster on Caire and his EPAC Division I Men's Soccer Player of the Year selection: "When I saw Manny play in his senior year of high school, I knew he would be a perfect fit here at Manor.  His has great technical skills and he always calms the game down.  His footwork was the best I've seen this year (compared to any goalkeeper we faced).  Manny is a natural leader and will be missed."

This is the second time that a Manor men's soccer player was named EPAC Player of the Year.  Mark Colville won the 2012 and 2013 EPAC Division III Men's Soccer Player of the Year.

The men's soccer team finished the 2017 season with an 8-9-1 record under Dempster.
