JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (7-8-0) freshman midfielder Nicholas Martinez scored two goals and contributed an assist as the Blue Jays defeated USCAA member Williamson College of the Trades Mechanics (3-7-0), 4-1.

The Blue Jays scored first in the 15th minute.  Manor freshman midfielder Ibrahim Abdelghani passed the ball downfield to fellow freshman midfielder Asuava Oghenero inside the 18-yard line.  Williamson senior goalkeeper Ryan Haines was unable to control the ball and Oghenero shot it into the right-hand corner of the open net.  It was Oghenreo's fifth goal of the season. Abelghani registered his third assist of the season.  Manor expanded its lead to 2-0 in the 43rd minute after a Williamson foul.  Freshman midfielder Nicholas Martinez' direct kick found sophomore defenseman Jon Cabrera outside the 18.  Cabrera's shot in the air was out of Haines' reach in the middle of the net for his first collegiate goal.  Martinez contributed his team-leading sixth assist of the season.  Both teams registered 10 overall shots (including foul on goal) each in the first half.

Manor increased its lead to 3-0 in the 55th minute on Martinez' third goal of the season and Cabrera's first collegiate assist.  Williamson avoided the shutout in the 87th minute.  Mechanics senior midfielder Bryce Dean passed the ball to fellow senior midfielder Jacob Lapp around the six.  Lapp kicked it past Manor sophomore goalkeeper Emanuel Caire for his first goal of the season.  It was also Dean's first assist of the season.  The Blue Jays made it 4-1 in the 89th minute following another Mechanics' foul outside the 18.  Martinez' direct kick went past Haines for his second goal of the game and fourth of the season.  Manor outscored Williamson, 2-1, in the second half, en route to the 4-1 win.  Both teams had nine overall shots in the second half and 19 each for the game. The Blue Jays had five shot on goals and the Mechanics had four in the second half.  Manor had nine shots on goal and Williamson had eight.

Individual Game Statistical Leaders: Sophomore defenseman Damien Schweizer led Manor with five shots overall.  He paced both teams with four on goal.  Caire made seven saves and won his fifth game of the season.  Patrick Kiely and junior midfielder Chris Smith each led Williamson with five shots overall.

Manor College Hard Hat Awards (as selected by the Blue Jays' coaching staff): Caire, Martinez, and freshman defenseman Bill Zwoduah.

Series Notes:  Manor leads the season series, 3-0-0 (since 2004), all under Head Coach John Dempster.  The Blue Jays have outscored the Mechanics, 12-3, in this series.  This was also first time Manor hosted Williamson in this series.

Manor versus Non-NJCAA Schools: Manor's victory versus Williamson improves its won-loss record against Non-NJCAA schools to 7-1-0 since joining the NJCAA for the 2008 season.

Home Field Advantage:  The Blue Jays improved its home record this season to 5-2-0.  Manor's five home wins are the most since moving up to Division I for the 2014 season.  Furthermore, this was the most wins at home for the Blue Jays since 2013, when they won seven.

Next Game: Manor travels to Division III County College of Morris (6-4-3) 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 10 in Randolph, New Jersey.  Morris leads the series 5-0-0.  The Blue Jays lost to the Titans on the road in its previous meeting, 3-2, in overtime, on October 4, 2014.

Next Home Game: The Blue Jays host Division III Harrisburg Area Community College (2-7-0) 3:30 p.m. Thursday, October 12 in its final regular season home game.  Manor leads the season series 11-0-0 (since 2004).  The Blue Jays are 5-0-0 at home versus the Hawks since 2004.  Manor shut out Harrisburg, 17-0, in its previous home meeting on September 28, 2013.  The Blue Jays defeated the Hawks on the road, 5-1, in its previous overall meeting on October 1, 2016.  This will also be the final home regular season game for six Manor sophomores:  Cabrera, Caire, defensemen Seykou Camara and Arthur Greenwood, goalkeeper/forward Brock Hirschman, and Schweizer.
