JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College Blue Jays (11-12 overall, 8-5 Region XIX Division II) sophomore forward/center Robert Tucker (Philadelphia, PA/Paul Robeson) led the Blue Jays 26 points, 11 rebounds, and five blocked shots as they defeated Delaware Technical Community College-Stanton (11-10, 6-6), 91-79.
Manor played its first ever regular season game at the Abington Friends School.
Delaware Technical led at halftime, 45-43. Freshman guard Mailk Clark (Philadelphia, PA/Boys' Latin) came off the bench and led the Blue Jays with 11 points. Manor outscored Stanton, 48-34, in the second half, en route to the victory. Tucker led both teams with 18 second-half points. Sophomore guard Anthony Rodriguez (Philadelphia. PA/Frankford) contributed 10 points for the Blue Jays. Manor's 91 points tied a season high (versus Raritan Valley Community College on January 21, 2020).
Offensively, the Blue Jays set season-highs in field goals attempted (85), fewest turnovers (9). Defensively. Manor also set season-bests in steals (16) and blocked shots (10). They also tied a season-high in fewest personal fouls (15) which was done in three other games (last done versus Gwynedd Mercy University Junior Varsity on November 21, 2019.
Individual Statistical Leaders: Clark led both benches with 18 points and five steals (both season-highs). Rodriguez added 13 points and paced both squads with six assists.
Freshman shooting guard/forward Yshaad Butler led Delaware Technical with 25 points. His six three-point baskets paced both teams. Freshman forward/guard Rashaan Butler scored 18 points. Freshman shooting guard shooting guard Jared McGarrity contributed 14 points, including four-three point baskets. Freshman forward/center Tyson Tanner led Stanton with 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.
