JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (6-7 Overall, 4-2 Region XIX Division II) sophomore forward/centerRobert Tucker (Philadelphia, PA/Paul Robeson) led the team with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocked shots as the Blue Jays defeat the first-place Essex County College Wolverines (9-3, 6-1), 87-74.
Manor led at halftime, 41-35. Blue Jays sophomore guard Anthony Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) and Wolverines sophomore guard/forward William Brown III led both teams with 10 first-half points each. The Blue Jays outscored the Wolverines, 46-39, in the second half, en route to the victory. Tucker led both teams with 15 second-half points and freshman Breizh Askew and Etnik Peci led Essex County with 10 each.
Individual Statistical Leaders: All five Blue Jays starters scored in double figures for the second time in three home games. Freshman forward/center Kuresse Rodgers (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) scored 17 points. Rodriguez contributed 14 points. Sophomore guard Jewel Funchess (Philadelphia, PA/Olney) added 14 points and led the squad with four assists. Sophomore guard/forward Taleek Anderson (Philadelphia, PA/Frankford) scored 10 for the Blue Jay
Brown III led Essex County with 19 points. Peci added 18. Askew scored 13 points off the bench for the Wolverines.
