MANOR MEN’S BASKETBALL DEFEATED BY COUNTY COLLEGE OF MORRIS

JENKINTOWN, PA—County College of Morris (13-1 Overall, 9-0 NJCAA Region XIX Division II) sophomore guards D'Ondre Dent and Abraham Kromah led both teams with 30 points each, as the Titans defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (3-10, 3-5), 65-56.

Morris led at halftime, 48-33.  Dent and Kromah led both teams with 13 points each in the first half.  The Titans also outscored the Blue Jays in the second half, 61-52.  Manor's 52 points are the most they have scored in a half this season.  Dent and Kromah also led both teams with 17 points.  Freshman guard/forward Jayden Dawson scored all of his 16 points in the second half.  Altogether, they combined to score 50 of Morris' 61 second-half points.  Freshman center Robert Tucker (Philadelphia, PA/Paul Robeson) paced the Blue Jays with 14 second-half points.

Individual Statistical Leaders: Tucker also led Manor with a "double-double", contributing 21 points and 16 rebounds.  In addition to Tucker, three other Blue Jay starters also scored in double figures.  Freshman guard Maleek View (Philadelphia, PA/Central) scored 15.  Freshman forward Yoshua Diaz (Philadelphia, PA/Dobbins) added 13.  Sophomore forward Carl Robinson (Jenkintown, PA/Jenkintown) contributed 11.  Freshman guard DaShawn Hockaday (Philadelphia, PA/Dobbins) scored 10 off the bench for the Blue Jays. 

This is the fourth time this season Manor has allowed 100 or more points in a game.

In addition to Dawson, Dent, and Kromah, freshman forward Joshua Morris added 15 points.  Dent led both teams with five three-point baskets made.  Freshman guard Syhid Daniels contributed 11 off the bench.

Series Record (since 1994-1995, but, the 2001-2002 season is unavailable): The Blue Jays are 11-11 versus the Titans, including 6-5 at home.

Next Game: Manor travels to play Mercer County Community College (9-6, 6-1) in a Region XIX Division II contest 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 15 in Trenton, New Jersey.  The Blue Jays are 15-5 versus overall the Vikings (5-5 on the road, including four straight victories), including nine straight wins.  Mercer County won the previous match-up, 94-90, in overtime, on November 6, 2018 (at Manor).

Next Home Game: Manor hosts NJCAA Region XV Division II Sullivan County Community College 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20.  This is the first contest between the two schools.  The Blue Jays are 0-3 versus Region XV schools (0-1 versus Division II).  They lost to SUNY-Ulster, 105-93, on March 6, 2018 in the NJCAA Region XIX Division II Postseason Tournament First Round.  Manor is 8-15 (6-8 at home) versus non-Region XIX Division II schools since the 2008-2009 season.
