THREE MANOR COLLEGE SOPHOMORE MEN’S BASKETBALL PLAYERS PLAYED IN THEIR FINAL REGULAR SEASON HOME GAME

JENKINTOWN, PA—Three sophomore Manor College (17-10 Overall, 10-6 Region XIX Division II) men's basketball players played in their final regular season home game versus Cecil College.

 

The three sophomores are as follows: forward Antonio Willis (Newark, NJ/Newark); guards Kobe Ancrum (Bridgeport, CT/Bassick) and Keithantonio Davis (Sicklerville, NJ/Eastern).

 

Willis played 21 games, including three starts, in his only season with the Blue Jays.  He scored 10 points versus Valley Forge Military College on February 10, 2018.  Willis pulled down a season-high eight rebounds against Essex County College on December 16, 2017.  He is a Liberal Arts major.

 

Blue Jays second-year head coach Diallo Daniels on Willis: "Antonio has been a pleasant addition to our team this year as a transfer.  He's works very hard and has filled in nicely when we needed some big minutes from him."

 

Ancrum played 12 games, including two starts, in his second season with Manor.  He scored in double-figures three times this season, including a season-best 12 on the road versus Delaware Technical Community College-Stanton on January 23, 2018. Ancrum handed out a season-high four assists in that game.  He tied a career-high with four steals at home against Region XX Division II CCBC-Dundalk on February 13, 2018.  Ancrum played 24 games, including 12 starts in his freshman season in 2016-2017.  He scored in double-figures six times, including a career-high 20 on the road against the NCAA Division III Eastern University Junior Varsity on November 16, 2016.  Ancrum pulled down a career-best eight rebounds at Mercer County Community College on January 19, 2017.  He added a career-high six assists at Division I Harcum College on February 2, 2017.  Ancrum also contributed four steals versus Lackawanna on January 28, 2017.  Altogether, he played 36 career games (14 starts) averaging 5.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals per game.  Ancrum shot 51.7% from the three-point line.  He is an Information systems and Technology major.

 

Daniels on Ancrum: "Kobe been a two-year contributor here at Manor.  He's been our one constant athletic guy who can guard the other team's best player and really exert his athletic abilities on the floor.  It's been a pleasure to see him grow off the court in the classroom with a couple semesters over 3.0."

 

Davis shares the team lead with 23 games played.  He has started nine times.  Davis was named to the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Fall 2016 and 2017 All-Academic Teams. He leads Manor in assists (126) and per game (5.5) and free throws made (79) and percentage (79.0%).  Davis is second in steals (32) and per game (1.4).  He is among team leaders in points (310) and per game (13.5), rebounds (126) and per game (5.5), and overall field goals made (108) and attempts (220).  Davis scored in double-figures 13 times, including 20 or more points in five games.  He scored a season-best 25 versus the County College of Morris on January 18, 2018. Davis also pulled down double-digit rebounds twice, including 13 versus Morris.  He thrice handed out double-digit assists, including 13 versus CCBC-Dundalk.  Davis also had three "double-doubles" in points and assists versus Division III Community College of Philadelphia on November 2, 2017 (11 points and 10 assists in his first collegiate game and start), Raritan Valley Community College on December 19, 2017 (18 and 11 in triple overtime), and CCBC-Dundalk (12 and 13).  He had two "double-doubles" in points and rebounds versus Rowan College at Burlington County on December 14, 2017 (19 and 10) and Morris (25 and 13).  His last four "double-doubles" came off the bench.  He made a go-ahead layup with 13.7 seconds left in the third overtime versus Raritan Valley.  Davis also made a go-ahead layup and free throw with 2.1 seconds remaining in regulation versus Cecil College.  He is a Liberal Arts major.

 

Daniels on Davis: "After redshirting last year due to injury, he has been a very good guard that does a little of everything for us well scoring, passing, rebounding, and defense.  He's been a tremendous asset to leading our team in the right direction on and off the court.  He boasts a 4.0 and will graduate with his Associates Degree and the future looks bright for Keithantonio's future."

Manor finished the 2017-2018 regular season in fourth place in Region XIX Division II action.  The Blue Jays play in the 2018 Region XIX Division II Postseason Tournament Tuesday, March 6 through Sunday, March 11.  Opponent, date, time, and location are to be announced.
