MANOR MEN’S BASKETBALL DEFEATED BY HARCUM COLLEGE

JENKINTOWN, PA—Harcum College (21-7) freshman guard Jordan Money came off the bench to score 23 points as the Bears defeated the Manor College Blue Jays (15-10), 97-70, in a non-conference match-up.

 

The Bears never trailed during this game.  Harcum scored the first nine points in the first 1:35 of the game.  Manor got as close as 10 points twice (15-5 and 17-7).  Freshman guard/forward Amir Hill (Philadelphia, PA/Parkway) sank a three-point basket, with an assist by sophomore forward Antonio Willis (Newark, NJ/Newark) with 16:52 left in the first half.  Sophomore guard Kobe Ancrum (Bridgeport, CT/Bassick) drained a jump shot with 16:20 remaining.  The Bears answered by scoring 11 straight points over the next 3:24 and increased the score to 28-7 on a layup by Money, with an assist by sophomore forward Charles Humphries with 12:56 left.  Sophomore guard Myron Gordon's jump shot with 12:08 remaining completed a 16-2 run, and gave Harcum a 31-9 lead.  Gordon's three-point basket made the score, 50-19, with 5:32 left.  Freshman guard Hafeez Martin's free throws gave the Bears its largest lead of the game, 57-21, with 2:57 left.  Harcum led 62-30 at halftime.  Gordon led both teams with 17 points.  Freshman guard Isaiah Wiggins (Pocono Mountain, PA/Pocono Mountain West) paced Manor with 10 points.

 

Harcum led, 79-46, on Humphries' free throws with 10:27 remaining.  Manor then went on a 10-3 run over the next 2:45, and, it was completed by freshman guard Dana Strothers' (Pittsburgh, PA/Obama Academy) free throw with 7:45 left.  Harcum took its largest of the second half, 93-58, with 5:17 remaining on Money's layup, with an assist by Martin.  The Blue Jays finished the game on a 12-4 run.  Manor outscored Harcum in the second half, 40-35.  Wiggins led both teams with 17 points in the second half.

 

Individual Statistical Leaders: Wiggins paced the Blue Jays with 27 points.  Strothers came off the bench to score 14 points.  Sophomore guard Keithantonio Davis (Sicklerville, PA/Eastern) contributed 11 points.

 

Money shot of 11 of 13 overall from the field.  Gordon scored 20 and shared the team lead with freshman guard Michael Okafor with seven assists.  Humphries and Reynolds scored 12 points each.  Reynolds paced Harcum with nine rebounds.  Martin came off the bench to score 11 points.

 

Series Record: Harcum leads the season series, 11-1, and has not lost game at Manor in six games.

 

Next Home Game: Manor hosts Mercer County Community College (12-14 overall, 7-8 NJCAA Region XIX Division II) 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2018.  This is the final Region XIX Division II regular season game.  This is also a make-up game from Thursday, February 8, 2018.  Manor leads the season series, 11-9, including seven straight overall wins.  The Blue Jays are 6-3 at home versus the Vikings, including two consecutive victories.  Manor won the previous match-up, 82-81, on November 14, 2017 at Trenton, New Jersey.
