MANOR MEN’S BASKETBALL VICTORIOUS VERSUS ROWAN COLLEGE AT BURLINGTON COUNTY

JENKINTOWN, PA—Manor College (10-3 Overall, 5-0 Region XIX Division II) freshman guard Dana Strothers (Pittsburgh, PA/Obama Academy) came off the bench to score 24 points as the Blue Jays defeated the Rowan College at Burlington County Spirit (5-8, 2-3), 98-83.

Rowan College at Burlington County took its largest lead of the game (10-6) on freshman guard Justin Green's free throws with 16:41 remaining in the opening half.  Sophomore guard Keithantonio Davis' (Sicklerville, NJ/Eastern) layup with 14:00 left in the first half gave Manor the lead for good (12-10).  His layup was part of a 10-0 run between with 15:59 and 12:57 remaining in the first half (3:02).  This run gave the Blue Jays a 16-10 advantage.  After Davis scored on another layup after a Baron turnover with 10:27 left that gave Manor a 26-14 lead, Rowan College at Burlington County scored seven straight points.  Freshman guard Tyrail Trussell's free throws with 8:50 remaining was as close the Barons got for the remainder of the game (26-21).  Freshman forward Javon Flynn's (Philadelphia, PA/Bartram) layup with 6:43 remaining gave the Blue Jays another double-digit edge (35-25).  Manor would maintain a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.  Freshman guard Isaiah Wiggins' (Pocono Mountain, PA/Pocono Mountain West) jump shot off of a missed shot gave the Blue Jays its largest of the first half (50-31) with 2:20 left.  Manor led 50-37 at halftime.

The Blue Jays started the second half on a 16-1 run in the first 3:16 and opened up a 64-38 lead on freshman guard/forward Amir Hill's (Philadelphia, PA/Parkway) jump shot.  Manor took its largest lead of the game (67-40) on Davis' layup with 13:58 left.  The Barons got within 20 points multiple times in the second half, but, could not get as close as 15 points on a three-point shot (its final basket) with seconds remaining in the game.  Manor outscored Rowan College at Burlington County in the second half, 48-46, en route to a 98-83 victory.

Individual Statistical Leaders: Davis came off the bench to contribute a "double-double" with 19 points and 10 rebounds.  He also led both teams with eight assists.  Freshman Ahrod Carter (Chester, PA/Chester) also came off the bench to score 17 and paced both squads with five three-point baskets.  Carter led the Blue Jays with three steals Flynn also had a "double-double" with 14 points and a team-leading 11 rebounds.  He also paced both teams with four blocked shots.

Freshman guard Jeffrey Sterling came off the bench and led Rowan College at Burlington County with 24 points and paced both teams with five steals.  Trussell added 22 points off the bench.  Freshman forward Sal Blidi contributed a "double-double" with 10 points and led both squads with 13 rebounds for the Barons.

Series Record: The Barons lead the season series 11-8 overall, but the Blue Jays have won three of the previous five games.  Manor is 7-3 at home versus Rowan College at Burlington County, including four consecutive victories.

Next Game: Manor hosts Essex County College (1-6 Overall, 1-6 Region XIX Division II) 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16.  The Wolverines lead the season series 16-4 overall.  Manor is 4-6 at home versus Essex County, including three straight victories.  The two schools split its matchups during the 2016-2017 season.  The Blue Jays lost on the road, 83-73, on November 19, 2016 and won at home, 75-73, on February 11, 2017.
