JENKINTOWN, PA—Sophomore guard Kuante Sargent (Baltimore, MD/Newtown) scored 30 points as 17th-ranked Manor College (20-6 Overall, 9-5 Region XIX Division II) defeated Delaware Technical Community College-Stanton (16-14, 7-7), 102-81.

The Blue Jays won its 20th game of the season for the second straight season.  Since records were kept for the 1994-1995 season, this is the first time Manor has won 20 games in consecutive seasons.

Five Manor sophomores were recognized prior to their final regular season home game: forwards Jordan Lomax (New Haven, CT/Career Magnet) and Brendan Wagner (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic); guards Calil Moultrie (Philadelphia, PA/Friere Charter), Robby Pierre (Irvington, NJ/Union Catholic), and Sargent.

Manor never trailed in this contest.  They opened up the game with a 12-2 lead with 16:33 left in the opening half on freshman guard Kobe Ancrum's (Bridgeport, CT/Bassick) basket, with an assist by fellow freshman guard Benjamin Pratt (Allentown, PA/Allentown Central Catholic).  Stanton got as close as five points for the second time in the half (22-17) with 11:13 left in the first on a sophomore guard Seiquann Kearney jump shot.  The Blue Jays answered with a 12-2 run over the next 2:54 and opened up a 16-point advantage (34-18) with 8:19 remaining.  The run was finished off by a Wagner layup, with an assist by freshman forward Nijza Faison (Philadelphia, PA/Dobbins).  The Spirit got twice within 10 points later in the first half (40-30 with 3:36 and 46-36 with 1:04 left) on sophomore forward Xavier Purnell's "finger roll" layup and free throws, respectively.  The Blue Jays led at halftime, 48-36.  Sargent led both teams with 19 points and Pierre added 10.  Purnell paced the Spirit with 15.

Stanton cut into Manor's lead in the early part of the second half.  The Spirit could not get any closer than eight points (54-46 with 16:13 and 56-48 with 15:14 left) on baskets by freshman forward Jahsun Greer and Kearney, respectively.  The Blue Jays went on another 12-2 run (between 13:35 and 10:23 remaining in the second half) and opened up a 19-point lead (73-54).  This run was finished off by a Sargent three-point basket.  Manor maintained a double-digit edge during this stretch and for the remainder of the game.  The Blue Jays got its first 20-point lead of the contest (79-59 with 8:28 left) on a freshman guard Dequincy Reed (Philadelphia, PA/Father Judge) three-point tally, with an assist by Faison.  Manor took its largest lead (25 points) multiple times in the final five minutes of the game.  Moultrie and Ancrum each made a "finger roll" layup with 5:01 (90-65) and 4:37 remaining (92-67), respectively.  Moultrie also sank a three-point basket (98-73 with 1:46 remaining) and converted a pair of free throws (100-75 with 1:19).  Manor outscored Stanton, 54-45, in the second half.  Reed led both teams with 16 points, Moultrie scored 15, and Sargent contributed 11.  Purnell paced the Spirit with 14, Kearney scored 13, and Greer added 12 points.

Sargent has scored in double-figures in all 26 games this season and 32 times in 34 career games.  He has scored 30 or more three times this season and last did this versus Northern Virginia Community College on December 10, 2016 (43).  Reed tied a season-high with 22 points. He last accomplished this at NJCAA Region XIX Division I Harcum College on February 2, 2017.  This is the eighth time he has scored in double-figures this season. Moultrie contributed 15 off the bench. He has scored in double-figures in 16 games and 28 times in his career.  Pierre added 10 off the bench and has scored in double-figures in a dozen games (17 career).

The Blue Jays are 33-6 at home (including 22-2 versus Region XIX Division II opponents) since the beginning of the 2014-2015 season.

Manor is 4-1 overall (3-1 at home) as a nationally-ranked team this season.  They are 7-4 overall lifetime (5-2 at home) since the 2015-2016 season.

The Blue Jays will compete next in the NJCAA Region XIX Division II Postseason Tournament in March. Manor's next opponent, location, date, and time are to be announced.
